OS :

Our Under-21s travel to Manchester United in the Barclays U21 Premier League tonight (Monday April 15).

The match takes place at the Salford City Stadium, home of Sale Sharks and Salford City Reds and kicks-off at 7pm.

The lads currently top the Elite Group of the Barclays U21 Premier League.

Indeed, United's win against Southampton means the team have already secured a place in the play-offs.

Only Liverpool - currently second - and United, now third, can catch us.

The top three from the Elite Group go into the play-offs with the final semi-final place decided by a play-off between the winners of Group One and Group Two.

So the next challenge is for the team to win the Elite Group - five points from the remaining matches against United, Arsenal and Southampton would do it.

Monday's 1-1 draw at West Ham means the team have lost just twice in their last 21 fixtures and they top the Elite Group with eight wins and two draws from 11 games.

Entry is free at the Salford City Stadium. Travelling fans are advised to use the postcode M30 7LJ in satnavs.

Interesting to see whether Younis Kaboul makes his second appearance for u 21's (last time played 60 minutes).

The other potential player to add to the squad will be Dean Parrett after his return from Swindon.

Live on Man United tv - many of us watched it live when Spurs u21's played Man U u21's early in the season
Always good when we get a chance to watch our kids on tv, looking forward to tonights game.

In fact 3 more points from the last 3 games would see Spurs in front of Liverpool and 4 points would see Spurs in front of ManU to top the group - both because Spurs goal difference (+19) is so much greater than either Liverpool (+5) or ManU. (+3)

Interestingly on Friday (19th April), ManU u21's are due to play Liverpool u21's, the match result awill determine who is the main challenger to Spurs whoever wins - a draw means Spurs need only get 2 more points (excluding tonight) to top the group. Worth following the match maybe !

Remaining Matches (per Premiership u21 fixture list) :

Spurs u 21's - ManU (tonight), Arsenal (A) April 22nd, Southampton (A) April 29th

Liverpool u 21's - ManU (A)19th April, West Ham (A) 26 April, Arsenal (A) 3 May,

Man U u21's - Spurs (tonight), Liverpool (H) 19th April, Wolves (A) April 26th, WBA (H) 30 April

Not a very strong United team, Im interested to see how it goes, they have a unknown factor with that team

Could go incredibly well for or be a drawn out long match

The co-commentator on MUTV is a joke - using "spurs have been playing their first team players in u21 all season" to slag our league lead....

Other than a couple of rehab games for parker/kaboul/hudd, I can't really recall any at all?

Completely laughable isn't it!

Note how he hasn't mentioned we have 15 players out on loan and a few 17/18 year olds playing regularly.

Can't believe how quiet the ground is! It's like it's being played behind closed doors, but there looks like there's a good few thousand there.
