True. I just think they are worth more to us than anyone would pay. For instance King- who would pay more than say £5M for him at the moment with his recent injury situation? Anyone? What do we value him at? £20M? no-one would go near that.

But yes, EVERYONE has their price, I see your point.

This is true, plus the are all unlikely to force the issue (in a way Berbatov for example could)

Bale only cost us £5 million upfront with future add ons take the final fee to a possible £10 million. Where you got £17 million from I have no idea.

Also the reason Bale would not be seen as an untouchable is that I doubt Ramos has ever seen him play in a live match and definately hasn't seen him train yet so Ramos can only judge on reputation.

great comment, take long to think about that?

If you know anything (and there are many who would say you don't) then you would know about his influence off the pitch and what a massive part he plays in the squad being a "team". But then you wouldn't know that, since you are ignorant.

He isn't untouchable though is he? I mean if we bought in a better striker (so many out there) then he would be on the bench.

Yes, he would be on the bench, but still part of the squad. He is a massive part of the squad, a joker like Gazza- but also a bloody hard worker.

I'd sell the following:

robocrap - 3 mill (on a summer special buy one get one free offer with cerny being thrown in as the extra)
chimbo - 5 mill
Lee - 1.5 mill (i bet all the dogs in London will breath easy once he's gone)
Lennon - 1.6 (that's 1 pound 60 pence)
Jenas - 5 mill (comes free with a goldfish bowl)

I'd give the likes of Malbrank and Thudd one more season. If they don't raise their game, get rid.

Bale has been available to Ramos 3 times and all 3 times he was picked at LB.

If I remember correctly after 1 of the games Ramos was extremely complimentary about Bale, IMHO I think Ramos sess Bale as 1 of the most important players at the club.

As for the Keane debate I don't think that he is anywhere near a certainty going forward, I believe if Ramos gets a sniff that he could sign Villa he would go for it (as he is much the better player) and I think signing Villa would see Keane leave the club.

Oh yeah I had forgotten about that, it was the Birmingham home game that Bale got injured wasn't it. No wonder I had blanked it from my memory. :-(

I agree that if we can get Villa we should but, I am not so sure it would mean the end of Keane at the club. It would mean that Keane would have to work twice as hard to have a chance in the first team and this is something he has shown he is capable of.

I understand what your saying but I think he would leave for 2 reasons.

Firstly his age, I don't think that Keane would want to accept being 3rd choice if we signed Villa which he would inevitably start as, at his age he will want to play every week.

Secondly if we bought Villa & managed to keep Berba I think that Ramos would sooner see Keane move and keep Bent. All 3 of Bent, Berba & Villa could play together whereas if Bent went and Keane stayed, Keane & Villa would be an unlikely combination. The first 3 offer more balanced options.

I would be surprised if he got Villa, as Ramos and Jol found out its hard to keep 4 quality strikers. I don't think Keane would be the one to go, he will stay and fight for his place, he is a leader and we need him. Ramos I think will look to shore up the defense and hopefully the center of midfield as well.

If we have Villa and Berbatov up front next season I think I shall probably drown in my own semen.

I would actually be upset if we signed David Villa even though it will never happen. If we got him it'd be one of the only strikers in the world we could have bought which would lead to Keane not playing. Keane is a fans favourite, scoring many goals this season, great partnership with Berbatov, loves the club and is a leader, no reason whatsoever we should look to buy anyone who could threatern his place.

We need to strengthern the weak areas not the ones we are very strong in by disrupting them!!!

As for Chelsea coming in and stealing someone, Id be more concerned if they turned their attentions to Ramos and we were faced with a similar incident to that of Arneson.

You've obviously not seen very much of david Villa if you would be disappointed if he signed for us.

And you know it won't ever happen? So your telling us you know more than Guillem Balague, Spanish football expert and personal friend of david Villa who ha said on a number of occasions that there is a good chance we could sign Villa?

But your right of course, keane is a fans favourite so therefore should not be replaced by a better player.

Its very worrying that Ramos plays the same team all the time,at this stage of the season I thought he would be trying different players and systems, does it mean that they are the only 11/13 players that he thinks are anyway good and that these are the bare bones of the squad!
Just from the squads he has used recently the following players must be very close to the front door -
Cerny,Lee,Rocha,Tainio,Boateng and possibly Kaboul and Taarabt!
