Nothing will change in the short term as the the Sporting Director and ex-manager (whatever his role in player purchases were) have failed to sort or problem areas for the last 3 transfer windows. :-|
To a certain extent I agree but, we had plenty of chances to put the game beyond doubt. Berba against the post for example. Our other biggest weakness is defense we don't have one top class defender amongst them. (excluding King as he isn't fit)
We shoot ourselves in the foot so many times it is unreal. :bang:
Nah Nidge. It's just that we don't have a first choice specialist back four to start a game this season.
Look at the centre backs - average age 22 and lack of experience shows. Bale is more forward than back, going on instruction - we were playing three at the back for much of the game.
How fucked off am I with our star forward Berby? He missed great opportunties and looked average for most of the game.
Last week, Riley should have given us a penalty and a Red card for Green, and bottled it. This week, Dowd gives them a dubious pen, sends Keano off for a committed tackle which probably wasn't even a foul, and even blows up as we pump the ball into their area (something which refs should NEVER do). You do have to wonder sometimes....
More generally, I think Ramos realizes we have no defenders, but good attacking players. He could load our team with defensive players, or play to our attacking strengths. He's chosen the offensive option, and I applaud him for that courage.
But with refs like these ****s and the fact our defenders may give the opposition a goal at any moment, Juande must be PRAYING FOR THE JANUARY TRANSER WINDOW TO OPEN...
