Once again we started very well then we were hanging on. Thought Lennon had a good game - was certainly involved in most of the action. But we are slowly creeping up on West Spam - 3pts behind and cant remember when we were that close. We have a better goal difference and we both play 2 home and 2 away games. 10th and the carling cup, considering the change of management would be seen as a decent season

And we seem to be running out of steam in the 2nd half. Whatever has happened to the elixir that Ramos is supposed to be giving the players at half-time?

Oh dear. Roll on next season, only game i'm looking forward for the rest of the season is the home game to Liverpool just hope we win that so we have at least one league victory over the "big 4" this season.

Sad state of affairs when you're calling for full time with 10 mins left, cause I could only see one winner and it wasn't us. Embarrasing how we fell apart when they scored.

Before it started I had a vision of a "bore draw"
Should have put my v.cash on it instead of tossing it off on a win

Good first half. Bad second half. Made a mistake taking off our 2 wide men. Dawson was outstanding apart from 1 mistake. Man of the match for me.

Boro probably deserved to win in the second half, yet they scored from a speculative shot that came off Jenas and into the net - Berbatov hits the post after coming off one of their players arms -15th time we have hit the post this season.
I would love Liverpools luck for just one complete season!

I'll go along with that. Again, it says it all when a defender is man of the match at home to shit like Boro.

Seriously, how many times do we have the chance to just clinch a win late on by getting a freekick awarded to us and then f*cking it right up? We have NOBODY who is useful at goal attempt freekicks. NOBODY, besides Bale. We saw it today with Huddlestone and it was pathetic. Straight at the keeper. The thing about Huddlestone is, he has power but no technique when it comes to his shots and freekicks, i.e he couldn't curl a ball into the top corner. And then Jenas took one early on which was high. He's awful too generally. That cracker against united in 04/05 and that's about it. We have scored once this season from freekick. It pisses me off to no end when teams are scoring from freekicks all the time and we NEVER ever seem to be competent. Brum clinched a draw out of their game today form freekick. And Villa scored from freekick too. These are the sort of goals WE need to be able to be scoring, they can be very important.

I'm just looking forward to the summer. Our players are obviously not bothered anymore, which is more than a little disappointing but I'm not going to get too worked up about it. We can't get relegated. Just get it over with.

how can we be so good in the first half then play that rubbish in the second, it is so frustrating :bang:

though this will probably not be liked, I thought Ramos tactically got it wrong in the second half and that was part of the problem. Lennon was having a much better game until Ramos made an error putting him on the left and then compounded that error by taking him off when it was his fault Lennon dropped off in the first place, the commentators thought it was wrong. Another error was playing all three strikers, would have thought the Newcastle game showed it doesn't work for us

was one of those people who said when we were near enough safe, we should give a few of our best youngsters a chance, so we don't waste the opportunity that we have to play them, with some people against it wanting us to finish as high as possible so don't play them, well since then we have played poorly, given no experience to any of our yougsters and have hardly learnt anything we didn't already know, very dissappointing, guess the youngsters wouldn't have done any worse afterall, at least they would have bags of motivation unlike some players

That was the worst performance I have seen in a long time.

And to think that some of them were playing for the right to wear the shirt next season.
