If Winks comes off the there is a very high possibility that Sissoko will be coming on..so the midfield area will not improve one bit.

Not sure why the commentators and pundits are so confused with Doherty being so high up the pitch. We’ve played that way with our right back since the day Jose walked through the door.

Massively missing anything creative from the centre of the park - PEH I totally get what he is there to do, however, winks? I ain't gotta scooby. Doesn't play anything forward and always looks for the safe pass. Nothing whatsoever coming through from the middle. Alli is another with huge question marks right now - ponderous and really offers very little and really isn't a typically creative AMC. This for me is a huge season for him and needs to deliver. Not a great half at all.

Kane needs to do what Lloris did, which is give that fucking greedy blind player name Son a fucking rollicking.

Start passing when players are open my Son, fuck u.

Been a problem for a long time, not only Son not playing Kane in but often the reverse too. I don't know what is going on but whatever it is - sort it the fuck out already.

Loaning out Skipp instead of selling Winks was a terrible decision.

Awful footballer. He’s relying on Hojbjerg or defenders to pass the ball forward. Fucking passenger of a footballer.
I like Winks, but that was a poor 45. PEH not much better,

Think we’ve seen what Doherty is all about. He will score goals for us, but I don’t see him making that side of our defence into a fortress.

I think if the game carries on the same vein, the length of time Ndombele stays on the bench will tell us a lot.

What’s the point of buying Hojbjerg if you are going to leave Ndombele on the bench.

Their only chance came from a horrific individual error. Other than that we've been by far the more dangerous team. People need to change how they define 'playing well' under Jose.

And just LOL at the criticism of Winks. He and Hojbjerg are dovetailing nicely, covering for each other when the other one is out of position. They're doing a good job of keeping possession when we're out of our shape too, allowing players to get back in position. This is where Winks is excellent and what a lot of people don't get about how valuable he is.

I mean Winks hasn't exactly been good but to be fair he's not supposed to be first choice either is he? Squad fully fit and he's argubly the 3rd pick in that possition if we believe Tanguy can play in a 2 with Højbjerg. He's a deputy doing a decent job imo.

Is Winks playing hide and seek.
You lot are kidding yourselves if you think Winks is coming off at half time. He's on until the 60th minute at least.

that’s only because Jose can’t find him either! He’s played a superb game of hide and seek so far.

Came on here at HT and surprised at comments. We’ve been good, solid, aside from one Davies howler. Doherty & Hojbjerg both doing well. Kane at the races too. But you can see Everton have added quality over the summer as well. One goal could decide this.
This is essentially it but people always need to moan at someone.

Not that I can talk, Neville is the target of my ire talking utter fucking bobbins!

I’m still confused that TWO top managers are not trying 4-3-3 with our squad. Especially now we have Hójbjerg who can do the sitting midfield role (which is where I think he’ll excel). I think the 4-3-3 makes us much more slick, I just dont understand why we haven’t given it a go?

I don't see Jose making a chance at HT but I'd take Dele off for Ndombele. Dele's control is awful today.

Will always be hard when we lack all out creativity from midfield and it's not like we have fullbacks like Liverpool to pick up the slack.

Play for 0-0 and try to nick a goal on the counter or a set piece.

Hoijberg - ball winner
Winks - ball recycler

Some perspective here guys, granted I'd like to see slightly more progressive passing from Winks but he's generally fulfilling his remit out there.

No need to be calling for massive changes here, Everton look decent in possession without being too threatening and we are picking our moments to try and strike - we are getting into better scoring positions than Everton and expect this to continue.
Sorry but I disagree. I don't know any top team which afford to have a player with only one responsibility - recycle. We can't have a player in a team whose job is not loosing the ball at basically that's all. And he's not even doing that today! To be fair to him Hojbjerg wasn't much better today but Winks is here for few season now and his not progressing. With Hojbjerg I'm more gentle as it's his debut.

Thought the lads played well. Couple of clever moves. Agree the cm looks a bit static. Needs a ball player in there to get the best out of winks and the forwards.
