I want Liverpool to win. City will be physically and mentally exhausted and the thought of playing us will be the absolute last thing on their mind. They can win the title against West Ham, Huddersfield, Swansea or the likes of Brighton. They will be full of beans if they beat Pool and the absolute opposite if they lose.

Lamela starts this one for me, and I'd go with Trips with some help from Lamela.

This is a good time to play them, they'll be shattered physically and mentally from all these big games of late.

Lloris

Trippier
Sanchez
Vertonghen
Rose

Dier
Dembele

Lamela
Eriksen
Dele

Kane

Subs Vorm, Aurier, Davies, Wanyama, Sissoko, Lucas, Son

With 3 fixtures in 7 days (City, @Brighton, United) rotation will be key. Many of the players who play in this match will probably be rested to prepare for United the following weekend. I think we'll see the following lineup against City:

Lloris
Trips Sanchez Verts Davies
Dembele Dier
Eriksen Dele Son
Kane
Subs Vorm, Aurier, Rose, Wanyama, Sissoko, Lamela, Lucas
This typically appears to be Poch's favored XI but I could also potentially see Poch opting to rest Son here and starting Lamela. Depending on Kane's fitness, Son could be leading the line midweek at Brighton while Harry rests up for United.

It's a difficult one to call. Depends if someone is a half empty or half full type. If Pool win, it could be like punching Mike Tyson in the chops and momentarily, he's dazed. Then he'll destroy you. Or, as you say, it could shake them a bit. Equally, if City win (which I hope they do) they could either be complacent, knowing the job is done. Or they could be more relaxed, with no pressure on them.

I don't think we need to be too worried whatever happens this week, because we simple don't know how they will respond to any given set of circumstances. What I do know is that we're at Wembley, and we play exceptionally well there. City will not be relishing the game. They are in the middle of a 'mini wobble'. If United and Pool can beat them, then so can we.

I’m amazed at the number of people picked by Rose and Aurier in their starting lineups! Have you watched their performances this season? It seems people feel their pace more than compensates for their lack of brains, poor positional sense and lack of end product in the final third. Tripper and Davies may lack pace but they’ve proved themselves steady and reliable at both ends of the field. In a game like this both Rose and Aurier are a red card waiting to happen.

RB is a real tricky selection for this game. Trips has had a better season, but is susceptible to pace and could get annihilated by Sane/Sterling. Aurier on the flip side is quicker, but has been shit positionally and dives in at the wrong time and place. That Walker bloke would have been quite handy for this one...

It's a big week coming up but only because of the FA cup, that's by far the most important game now that Top 4 is close to being wrapped up. I'd play "first team" against City and then seriously rotate against Brighton before the Utd game.

City:

Lloris
Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies
Dier Dembele
Lamela Eriksen Dele
Kane

Brighton:
Lloris
Aurier Sanchez Dier Rose
Wanyama Sissoko
Lucas Lamela Son
Kane

Thought we’ve already learned that starting Trippier is suicide against City? I pray Poch doesnt put us through this again.

Both Rose and Aurier should retain there spots for this match. We need their pace against Sane and Sterling. Harsh on Davies and Trippier as it will also mean there out of the FA Semi due to Brighton mid week but that’s the way the cookie crumbles, so to speak. We need to pick the team that gives us the best chance against City. Aurier and Rose are much better equipped to try to handle City’s pace.

Yes that is the team I would play if they are all fit (100%) and ready to go!
My worry is they are not?

I didn’t think they had great games against Stoke to be honest. I think Sane and Sterling might destroy them. Look this is why we pay Poch the big bucks, he should know who is the best player for each team and I expect him to pick them Saturday. I am really hoping city take it to the wire tonight and play extra time. If Salah were still out would be a bonus for city and Harry Kane. Although Harry is going to have to grow a Pogba type hairstyle if he wants to claim goals like Saturday’s?

19.45 on a Saturday night is an amazing time for a match.

Good job strictly ain't on.

Really sad it is on so late as there is no way I would get home by public transport. With work commitments the next morning I can't go to the match so sold my ticket through the exchange ... not happy with the way matches are scheduled

When I said 'amazing' I should have said 'crazy amazing'

But I fear this sort of stuff is is coming into play in the next year or so.

It will be a summertime game if Sky get their way irrespective of World Cups etc.
