I thought the first goal was down to poor play by Steed principally - giving away possession at a vital moment so close to half time - (may be wrong of course)

That's fine as long as people treat this match as irrelevant and if we lose it doesn't matter. Hopefully that won't happen but if it does then will we get a load of posts saying " never mind , winning or losing against the Barcodes wasn't important . Experimenting was the thing . " Doubt it somehow.

It gives me no pleasure to highlight what I said in my post when I saw the starting line up. At the end of the day we all want to win. Experimenting with a load of people playing out of their normal positions is ok if you dont care about the result. Of course the players compounded that by giving that impression too. After other London teams Newcastle is the team that most of us hate losing to. For those who want experimentation for the rest of the season that's fine but shut the f up when it doesn't work. Just be thankful that 39 points is probably more than Bolton will get.

Just finished the replay. Fucking 'ell, we were terrible today...I want to find something positive to say (like O'Hara was good on the ball in the first half, which he was) but its bloody hard.

OK if youre looking for a positive,we are a team heading in the right direction.Ive been a Spurs fan for 23 years, and am more confident now about our future than i ever have been. You can often learn more by losing than winning, today is a great example of that.

No no, I agree--I've put in around twenty years myself and I can feel positive despite getting stuffed at the Lane. I remember the 80's :eek:mg:

I've not seen any of the game or heard any reports but I'm going to take the tottenham hotspurs approach to it and not bother about it.

roll on next year.

Sorry to bring this up but if you look back at the pre match posts on this thread several of us pointed out that we couldn't see that line up working. Others responded that it was a good time to experiment. So I hope those people are not complaining now we've got stuffed.

Absolutely mate, I've posted very few comments as I saw today as useful exercise in principle. But I think we can all agree that there's a level of expectation you have of your players playing in ANY formation, though. I'd have taken a loss if it gave Ramos some much needed research, but to lose 4-1 to anyone is pretty unforgiveable, let alone a team as mediocre as Newcastle. It isn't as black and white as "You said you wanted to experiment, so you can't moan if we lost" I'm afraid. Although I've still tried my best not to

Not being funny or nothing, but that was disgraceful - from professional players to experienced coaches and a tactical manager - ALL of them got it wrong today.

I watched every painful minute of it. The first half was not so bad - and it could have been worse. The silly thing is, we probably would have won it if they hadn't equalised when they did - those goals are always fatal. But I've not seen a home half so bad in, say, the last 3 or 4 years.

We've got a pschological thing about Newcastle - and if I'm honest, I would rather we experimented against Boro and Bolton rather than a team who've now taken 6 points off us 2 seasons in a row. :-|

He got it wrong yesterday, Ramos. And that's a shame, because I think he's pretty much got it right in every game thus far - including subs.

This isnt an excuse for yesterday, as yesterrdays performance was totally unacceptable. But, why is the Cup Final played whilst the league is still ongoing?

Surely a cup final (ie FA Cup and Champs League) should be played at the end of a season.

Yeah I was there mate, with TSH and jimbo. We stayed until the final whistle too - forcing ourselves to watch it knowing that it was the lowest we could be.

Very sadistic yet cathartic in many ways. :)

I've never seen the Lane empty so quickly in my life.

Even the 4-0 against United was that bad. Shocking. I saw two blokes leave as their 3rd went in. I mean what's the fupping point of that? It's a Sunday, I left pretty much straight after the game and got back into Ilford in 40 minutes, so it's not traffic reasons. Booo to people.

I stayed until the final whistle too. I took my gf to her first Spurs match yesterday, typical I had to choose that match to try and get her into Spurs...

But as for traffic problems, the tube was a nightmare yesterday! Victoria Line was shut from Islington to Brixton, although they had a small service from Seven Sisters to Finsbury Park, and then you had to get the Picadilly line or whatever from Finsbury Park. The tube is always pretty packed after matches but yesterday it was especially bad.

We stayed until the final whistle as we always do but the traffic was bloody awful going towards NW london! My mate who was driving had a serious case of road rage.

Really really really really winding me up seeing all of Keegan's comments. Look at his frickin face, tosser looks like he's won the lottery. That's the worst thing that's come out of all of this, it's given the Geordies belief. Grrr
