Also remember that benching Gio could have something to do with him making the extra long trip to Mexico against Honduras

for me I'd prefer Hudd or O'Hara instead of lennon, but the team looks better than last week's anyway, at least Bentley won't be on the left I assume - so playing lennon the right makes sense - it is a fragile team still - but less fragile looking than last week's

Normally I'd say for sure, drop lennon and have Bentley and Bale on the wings getting the crosses in - but if there's no-one to cross to ......

Still I'm completely at ease about dropping Berbs

the Berbs situ is a mess- maybe it could have been handled better - but given the rumours about toys and prams - I prefer a committed team

However util we get the erbs situ resolved a lot of Bentley's ability (his crosses) will be wasted

and note to those who once again dropped JJ from their team this week - it's up to you of course but I bet JJ was one of the first names on the teamsheet

As I've been saying all summer long (trademark DC_Boy) :)

JJ is staying and JJ is playing :)

I actually think it looks like a balanced line up. Plus if you anyone wants to feel more confident take a look at the Sunderland side! I think we will hammer them. They don't have Tuncay, Alves, Alidiare or Downing, so the threat from wide areas and on the break that hurt us last week isn't there. Playing at home, with the crowd behind us, I can really see us scoring a lot of goals today.

Just exactly how does it appear a balanced side? A midfielder at right back, a left back on the left wing, no ball winner, and two right wingers....

If Bentley is primarily playing as the Number 10/ACM, ahead of Gio Dos Santos, that's an interesting call from Ramos.

Hopefully, the ACM position is simply being kept warm for Andrei Arshavin....

Anyone else its fantastic management that Ramos is refusing to play Berbatov because he is in a strop bout not being let join utd?

Jol would have played him in this situation and i personally think its a good marker to set down that ramos wont be taking any shit

Yes. Good call.

Gio could be an excellent impact sub for the last half hour against tiring mackem legs...

that line up looks so so unbalanced...i'm genuninely worried about the game. Where will lennon play? behind benty most likely. What about geo who was the pick of our attacking players last week?

one day ramos was touted as a tactical genius behore he joined us; he's so far failed to live up to the hype!

gio played foe meh-heho in mid week. probably why only on bench. lennon fresher. also lennon done really well for us(in the 2 games i can remember) when he lpays in the middle supporting the strikers.

I think you'll find JJ won the ball more than any player in either squad, barring Steed, last season. Also, the balance comes from the fact we have 2 left footed players on the left side and two right footed players on the right. Bale has played very well for us in LM and has played there for us in the Prem as much as LB. Bentley is very capable of playing in the hole or in CM.

your a bit blind arent you, when ale has played left wing hes been amazing, he played left back for southampton, last season for us he constantly played left wing and is amazing. Also Bentley plays on the right but has often played in the centre for blackburn and has a great shot on him.

Because of the lack of strikers i dont blame Ramos doing this.

Interesting lineup. I imagine Bentley on the right and Bale on the left. Should give us some decent width. I expect Lennon behind Bent with Modric and JJ pushing up more than in the Boro game. Good to have King and Woody at the back.

I think this is a perfect lineup. Bentley IMo operates best in the centre of midfield as he can use his powerful shooting to better effect. Plus he doesnt have the speed to operate well on the flanks.

Having said that, we do need him and Jenas to supply Bent with the through balls which Bent is so good at poaching.

Worries me our lack of attacking options off the bench...we have a bench of defenders and Giovanni who is no leader of the line...Pekhart had to be an option esp with 7 subs!!

I think it'll be a flat 4 midfield with either Bentley or Lennon playing off Bent. Not sure which I'd choose to play this role, Bentley has far superior technique but Lennons' pace could do some damage. I'm sure someone posted a Wenger quote from when Bentley was at Ar5ena1 saying he could be the next Bergkamp.
