I don't think there is a set of fans in the world who would rather their rivals win a league title over them coming 4th in the league.

football is all about rivalries.

i think your outlook on it is in the minority.
Rivalries is not more important than our team succeeding surely? Ok so none of us want Arsenal to win the league but we need to focus on what we are doing and how much we can improve and succeed rather than losing our minds because Arsenal appear to have become a good team again.

It’s really quite a simple calculation - would be pleasure of getting 4th outweigh the grief of the goons winning the league.

and the answer to that question for me anyway is…….hell no!!!

I don’t think it’s abysmal, given where we are at. We finished 24 points behind them last season and if anything they have become stronger this season. There’s every chance they will go on and win the league from here. They’ll at least finish in the top two.

In 2020 we finished 40 points behind title winners Liverpool.

In 2019 we finished 27 points behind title winners City.

In 2018 we finished 23 points behind title winners City.

Even in 2022, our best season for about five or six years, we finished 22 points below title winners City.
We also have 2 games in hand, we're progressing well and I hope regardless of the result people understand that. Even if Villa finish above us Arsenal have shown you can still challenge for the title the next season after they finished 5th behind us.

I bet my outlook is the same as the players and Ange's.
They're not fans though. They're doing what they're being paid to do.
I'm a Tottenham fan feeling exactly what I've been conditioned over many decades to feel.

You've been hoodwinked into thinking qualifying for a competition we have zero chance of winning is success.

Its about getting into the champions league mate not just getting 4th. Would you honestly want us to miss out on playing champions league football next year and all the money that comes with it which undoubtedly would enable us to improve our squad easier than if we didn't get in the competition just because you don't want Arsenal to win the league?

How will their first goal come about?

a) Saka dive and pen, followed by a limp naturally

b) Gabriel header from a corner with Big Vic bullied by Tossard

c) Shit shot by Martinelli going wide deflects in off Romero’s arse?

we've been in the CL for 5 or 6 out of the last 8 years (?), even reached the final. We didn't really kick on, did we.

If I had any confidence that the additional revenue would used to buy those one or two players who could propel us from in the top 4 mix to actually winning the title, with Sonny holding it aloft, then that might be a different matter. But I don't see us winning a league at any point soon and that's not just because of City/Pep.

so we get top 4, and the price paid is the f***g goons shoving it down our throats for the next 20 years? No thanks.

I'd sacrifice CL football for next 5 years for just one lousy carabao cup.

The emotion of us getting 4th and into the CL in no way compares to the emotion of watching Arsenal win the league, no comparison at all.

Yes. Schadenfraude is more compelling to me than someone else's balance sheet.

I just want to see a front 3 of Son, Richarlison and Johnson. I think that is the way forward, we need Richarlison at set pieces and for his pressing.

Have we seen that at all this season? Definitely don't think we've started a game with it, maybe once or twice earlier in the season with Deki dropping deeper when Maddison was injured.

Richarlison hasn't started a match in over 2 months so I doubt it will happen, it would seem our best bet though.

Me: Surely Arsenal will get some injuries to key players at some point in the season.

Football gods: We are going to make them completely injury free in the PL run in.

High risk of a Romero red card, especially if any of their South Americans come within his range
