Maybe Davies naturally will make it 3 at the back when we attack. He won't be playing in th3 number 10 role

I'm dreading this game... Arsenal in free scoring mode and we seem let them in freely. I'm likely to give it a miss. Shit I wish we were in some good form. 2 weeks rest wouldn't have helped.

Its about getting into the champions league mate not just getting 4th. Would you honestly want us to miss out on playing champions league football next year and all the money that comes with it which undoubtedly would enable us to improve our squad easier than if we didn't get in the competition just because you don't want Arsenal to win the league?
Yes. And the money won't improve the squad to enable us to compete for the title anyway.

we've been in the CL for 5 or 6 out of the last 8 years (?), even reached the final. We didn't really kick on, did we.

If I had any confidence that the additional revenue would used to buy those one or two players who could propel us from in the top 4 mix to actually winning the title, with Sonny holding it aloft, then that might be a different matter. But I don't see us winning a league at any point soon and that's not just because of City/Pep.

so we get top 4, and the price paid is the f***g goons shoving it down our throats for the next 20 years? No thanks.

I'd sacrifice CL football for next 5 years for just one lousy carabao cup.
Absolutely spot on.

Last year at home I knew we could stop them somehow, got on the beer early and the atmosphere was electric, they literally shat themselves and their title challenge was derailed. This year we don't seem to have the fight in us, Ange never changes tactics so you know already what your going to get. We will play football and they will play football better than us, I fear the outcome is almost inevitable. That said still getting to the high road early and on the beer, not expecting much but wishing for so much more. It would be great if it happens again. COYS

Us winning away at Villa, Villa winning away at the Goons, and the Goons winning away at ours would be a strange little sequence.

Got to break it tomorrow.

Yes I would give up the cL in a heartbeat. Just as happy with the EL this year as I think it enables us to play some younger players in the early rounds and we could actually win it.

That's just wrong. Happy with EL? We struggle in domestic cups so what makes you think we would win EL!
Surely you want to play in the best competitions.....

Why can we not get top 4 and beat the goons and Man City win the title.
The goons have been more successful than us in the past and so nothing new there though does not mean we don't strive for success.

We have had some great CL nights in the past and we should be creating more memories.

You don't see us winning league and also don't want top four!

Why do you think we need to sacrifice CL so that we can win the Carabo Cup? Surely we should aim to win everything we compete in.
Such negative bullshit!

We have a lot more chance of winning the EL. Forget the history of how we’ve done previously, its a simple fact that the teams in the EL are not as strong. With no one dropping down from the CL we would be one of the favourites. Also in the early rounds we can look at a few of the younger players.
Anyone who really thinks we would get anywhere in the CL at this stage of Ange’s project is being delusional. So it’s an early exit from the CL or go deep and possibly win the EL. I know which one I’d prefer

It's not one or the other though. We were shit in the Carabo cup and FA cup which are easier than the EL!

They are definitely not easier than the EL. Especially with nobody dropping down from the Champions League any more. City, Arsenal and Liverpool are levels above anyone in the Europa, and we'd be one of the favourites for it alongside e.g. Bilbao, Ajax and Frankfurt. Any domestic cup draw against a top-half PL team is as hard or harder than the most difficult Europa League ties.
