Having the speed of Johnson to bring on could also be very effective if the later stages.
That's what I was thinking. Bringing him on at HT or just after, along with Richarlison - could be a wise move. Fresh legs rather than having them run out of puff before the end of the game

That Arsenal attack doesn't look very quick to me.

Obviously they'll still be a threat, but I'm glad Martinelli isn't starting.

Some big calls made in dropping Bissouma and Johnson for Hojbjerg and Deki - the latter in particular needs to make a positive impact here as I can’t say I particularly wanted to see Son down the middle and no physical presence of Richarlison.
I think with 3 games this week - it will be about rotation - and with Richarlison just coming back, I can see him with 1 start and 2 bench appearances.

Deki provides a good ability to hold the ball up in the front line - and Johnson will be a great impact sub to bring on if we are needing a goal late.

Hojbjerg feels like the right amount of experience that you want in a big Derby - maybe not the most skillful -but I think he is a guy we need to set the tone - a little physical without losing our heads.

Bottom line - this is a squad game - we need more than just XI to show up if we want to take anything from these next 3 matches - Richarlison, Johnson, Sarr, Bissouma all have a role to play this week.

True but our options on the left are thinner on the right. Also Kulu’s work rate is better than Johnson’s so I can understand why he went with it.
Yeah Deki is certainly capable, need a big game from him. He does do well in big games to be fair.

So disappointing the way Bissoumas career with us is turning out.

Not getting in the starting line up of a NLD at the business end of the season for a player thats likely off in the summer...

I thought he'd be a nailed on success after moving from Brighton.

Very sensible starting line-up, given the attacking prowess of Arsenal of late. The physicality of Richy and the speed of Johnson are assets to be used in the last third of the match.

So good to have a decent squad. Bissouma, Johnson, Sarr, Dragu, Rich, Lo Celso and Emerson a very good bench.
Hopefully that starting XI starts strong.

Wouldn't go that far.

He's just clearly out of form and needs some time on the bench.

Doubt we sell him in the summer as everyone knows what he's capable of.

Kulu can hold up and retain the ball better then Johnson, whose speed will be crucial in the last third/quarter of the match.

Bissouma's only bright spot for us was a purple patch to start the season, which ended with his 1st half red card against Luton. Sure he didn't play much last year but I think by now we have all seen why Conte never played him. Hojbjerg is truly just a better player & it is about 2-3 months too late for Bissouma to have finally been dropped for him. The only change to the XI I'd have made are Sarr & Richy for Bentancur & Werner.

He started the season great. He is not the only player who's form suffered after afcon and don't forget he got malaria.

Right call for him to be on bench today, given his form, but thinks it's an over reaction to assume he is off.
