The bit that does confuse me is I see people, many in the media referring to our “all out” or “gung ho” style but I don’t really see it??
They make it sound like we’re this swashbuckling team who create chance after chance after chance and it leaves up open at the back, but because we’re so all out attack we could win every game 6-3….
When I watch us though I see a team who can’t defend to save their lives, play a high line which gives the impression we’re all pushing on for all out attack.. but then when we get the ball forward we have this stodgy, front three who receive the ball, can’t beat a man, so turn back and pass it back and forth repeatedly in the middle third never really getting anywhere.
I was under the impression that the defending was somewhat substandard because we were so busy trying to attack… but it seems like we’re poor at attacking and defending, and when we win it feels like it’s because we have the odd individual player who can finish a chance a lesser opposition player couldn’t.
I don’t really get what we are as a team at the moment? Other than lacking identity and seemingly a fair bit of bottle.
They really do have the depth to just replace one annoyingly faced player with another. They're almost all interchangeable in quality of twattishness, with no drop off
