Well, could have been something if not he referees and var was drinking paint before and during the match.

VDV goal - block attempted, new situation, no offside, goal.

Kulu clipped in the buildingup to their second, reminded me of son in our first game of the season.

Tomyassu, collected about six yellows during the match.

Partey (autocorrected to partly), stamping kulu, no fk given, should have been a yellow, got a yellow later, should be off.

Third goal, easy to see off-white handling vicario too much, FK.

Six minutes added - was about the same time as raya had the ball in his hands lying on the ground.

Not spotting the nut kick to Davies, despite beein five inches from the situation.

Second half one of the better, kulu as 10 so much better. Richy offers much more as a striker. Johnson better out right.

There is no way Oliver didn't spot the nut kick, he just decided not to call it. Which is way worse.
This what fucks me off. That and the trip. Which was a trip. But wasn’t a trip. If it wasn’t a trip why would Kulu “try” and stay on his feet??

This is huge for me. I don't want to blame officials as it looks like I'm excusing our performance today which I'm not.

That was criminal, in the VAR replay you can see him with a crystal clear view. You just cant make those mistakes, tough calls are fair game I won't moan about those but he was literally a few feet away with nothing impeding his view. Atrocious.

That is the ball coming off Gabriel's head to put VDV in. Why are they even looking at offside?

Been saying to a friend, I actually don’t understand the rules of the game anymore. Used to. Not so much these days. Makes me feel like a dinosaur, but I don’t understand how White, who is absolutely active because he pushes Vic onto the back foot and is directly in front of him also doesn’t get called for offside in their third. All I know is I don’t have a lot of faith in officials anymore, less now with the fallback of var than before, which is weird.

By the time Havertz heads the ball, white has stepped out and Bentancur is almost on the goal line.

For me I would like him to stop doing "how we play, is how we play", I would like some focus on how the oppositon plays eg last game against Newcastle, we had no plans to combat them 3 forwards the whole game. Some tactical tweaks would have served us better in them games where we have had a hiding. Saying he doesnt care about finishing 4th but is focusing on improvement, but apart from not sitting back and trying to contain the opposition anymore, we are no better defensively and struggle against opposition that sit back. Finishing 4th or above with the start we had would be a statement to our team and the rest of the premier league. Now the league know that again we dont need to be taken seriously.
Can't disagree with you there. Those Newcastle comments came back to bite him. Anyway he needs time. We fighting for Europe.... I'd be singing a very different tune if we were in 10th or lower

I thought we played pretty well.

Set pieces cost us.

We were unfortunate overall, but we showed good fight to get back into it.

I love Micky and Romero.

Brillant.

We need a big attacking signing this summer though.

I agree, we were the better team today. The ref gave us nothing and VAR is an abortion. The rules are a mess. Kulu had his back to goal and wad virtually level, that is not what offside was designed to prevent.

We get a defensive set piece coach and some clinical finishing and we win that comfortably.

And...Ben White is some weird orange ****!

It is deliberate - if the fans, players, managers and pundits don't understand the rules then the officials and PGMOL can make it up as they go along. Posted weeks ago, refs give a lot of decisions based on their mood, not on the laws of the game.

Having said that, it's not why we lost today - we lost because we do not defend set pieces or transitions very well.

Just back from the game. Haven’t read anything that’s been said in this thread but my pennies worth

  • I dont know what Ange is on about, but defending corners is a big part of the game and we are not very good at it. It feels sometimes that conceding a corner is like conceding a penalty - stop burying your head up your own arse and sort it the f**k out.
  • How the hell is VDV’s “equaliser” offside. I didnt even celebrate - had a feeling.
  • Deki - you should have gone down instead of trying to stay on your feet. In saying that I dont think this corrupt biased bastard of a ref would have given a penalty even for a knife wound.
  • Back to corners - they have a very set routine on how they do corners - did nobody in our coaching staff figure this out?? Can’t be arsed to work out a way of countering.
  • I love Johnson. I think he is going to do great things for us, and I dont understand the stick he was getting earlier in the season. But today - bloody hell, his delivery was appalling - every cross seem to loop up limply in the air for Reya to catch effortlessly.
  • For 2 months I thought Maddison was the signing of the season and absolute steal at £40m. Never seen a players form take such dip after coming back from injury - needs to be dropped.
  • Twice late on in the game with the score at 2-3, Vicario was screaming at the bench asking for permission to go up for one of our corners, and Ange, was looking at the floor, at his shoes, at the sky, anywhere but not their box or our goalie - it was like he’d switched off.
  • The Ref - i have been saying on these boards for years that corruption takes many forms and is not just brown paper bags stuffed with 50s or secret Swiss bank accounts. Oliver did not WANT to give us anything today - the penalty that we were given being a case in point. It’s so brazen, i have no words, and Oliver was right there 5 yards away with an unimpeded view and he didnt want to give it. VAR forced him to. This is where refs have too much protection - get in front of a TV camera and an interviewer and explain yourself - explain how your eyes could see that and not blow the whistle, you arrogant, corrupt piece of shit.
Rant over.,…..one day this club will kill me

I simply don't understand why keepers are suddenly given no protection from corners. White was blatantly fouling Vicario. It's one thing to let little things go for the benefit of the flow of the game etc, but there is nothing being gained by allowing players to just take keepers out of the equation from set pieces, it is not protecting the spirit of the game, or encouraging attractive football, it's just cheating that's ignored. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Simply call the fouls every time and it goes away from the game, everyone is happier.

Other than that, Oliver was really giving them every marginal call. A different ref, and a bit of luck with the very near misses - Mickey's goal, Romero's headers etc - and it would have been a completely different game.

I dont see White was fouling Vicario. He was impeding - yes.
I dont blame Vicario for the goals either. Its as simple as defenders not doing the job.

One thing Vicario has to do is, chose what sort of keeper he wants to be. He can chose to be a dom, take everyone out and go for it or be sub , constantly cry & moan and fall around hoping refs will give decisions against opponents. At present, he is not doing both. And our defenders also failing in organisation.

And it's just Premier League, White got called out for foul multiple times during the Bayern games.
