Poch would at least make them run and press, rather than ambling around without a care in the world.

Not that I think this is all on Conte, the problems run far deeper, yes that you Levy I’m talking about.
We didn’t run much or press in the last 18months of Poch being the manager. In fact we haven’t pressed for about 4/5 years

Levy would be insane to give Conte any more money.

His 3-5-2 is predictable, pedestrian and easily nullified.

For it to take over fifteen minutes at home against a team with one away victory all season, for one of the best strikers in World football to get his first touch of the ball speaks volumes of Conteball.

Call out the players all you want, but a manager that has seen his side fall behind first in ten straight games must now start to be questioned whatever players at his disposal.
Bollocks, it’s not the manager, we’ve had too many that can’t get a tune out of the club, it’s from the top down, the buck stops with levy, he’s the boss, he appoints the mangers, he is ultimately responsible for the success or failure of this club, ands his time is up, no more excuses and no more ways to say it.
This is exactly the type of post that gives him a way out, another chance.
I was a BSODL for many years, but not for the last few years, until he goes, no amount of new managers or players will make a jot of difference.

Two paths from here:
1) keep conte and invest heavily
2) bring poch and go on with a project

most importantly, communicate with fans about the path, whichever it is
Why not:

3. Bring in Poch who has a record of overachieving in the Premiership and invest *quite* heavily to help him close the gap to the top teams?

Levy for all his faults (and he has "some") doesn't pick the team or decide tactics and substitutions. That's all down to one person.

Absolutely - it's not sustainable and Poch knew it. Unfortunately by that time we were so spoilt by the football that it was a shock when Poch dropped it for the pedestrian spectacle it has been ever since.

We're still arguing now over whether he was backed or was being inflexible with his targets. Will anything have changed?

We need to stick to the plan. Give Conte the support to build up the club.
That plan seems to have gone out of the window…….the new plan, i would hazard a guess is to install Poch at some point and hope nostalgia and sentimentality among the crowd saves ENIC from our justifiable righteous anger and wrath

I dont think we are playing as we are because he doesn’t think it’s worth the effort or that he can’t be bothered. THere are far deeper problems at the club, they existed long before Conte arrived and they will exist with our next manager and the one after that and the one after that…….and so on.

We have owners who know exactly what is required to build a successful side but have taken a conscious decision NOT to do it because it involves too much financial risk. So we plod along, always going for the cheaper second and third choice transfer targets hoping to hit the jackpot, and hoping the stars will align and allow us a season or two in the champions league every now and then.

For me this is why he shouldn't be manager. He literally can only work with very specific players and not willing to work with anything else. We need a manager that isn't going to burn the team down whilst throwing his transfer tantrum.

But this is the same excuse that gets brought out every time, you need to see the bigger picture, it runs much, much deeper than this .
He appointed Conte, (and Jose and all the other failures and probably got lucky with Poch), so has to take responsibility for getting it wrong (if Conte doesn’t fit the model).
There is something fundamentally wrong inside the club, 1 trophy in 20 years, with the quality of players and managers we have had is not good enough. Levy would still not me chairman of virtually any company with those results. There is a mentality problem, and that comes from the top, there is no excuse anymore.
There is only one constant in our 20 year search for a trophy, and his time is up.

It literally doesn’t matter who the manager is, we have a looser culture and it starts at the top. How many f*** ups have we witnessed under Levy it’s never ending.
Came here to say this. The common denominator is Levy/ENIC.

Three managers on the bounce have asked for a rebuild. It's not happened as isn't likely to.

I thought this was going to be a better year but it seems to have faltered and we still have a lot of work to do.
I have come to the conclusion that I need to reset my expectations from a lower base which will make it easier to judge the rest of the season and better able to handle results like this one.
I still think we are on the right road but we need new tyres and some turbo charge to speed up our progress. Let's hope we look to that this window.
Happy New Year everybody

Much as it pains me to say, I don’t think we have a better option. We dropped a bollock when we chose Conte, but we’re stuck with him ‘til he decides to go, so have to make the best of it. As he’s unable to operate without world class talent in his dressing room, that’s what we need to supply him with. It could ruin us , of course, but there are no safe paths from this dark place!

I have a reasonable amount of knowledge in terms of tactics and setting a team out. Having been to every game bar 2 or 3 this Season I can honestly say I still struggle up understand his game plan/tactics for pretty much every game. We appear to be a reactionary team that uses the first half to work out our opponents tactics and then adapt. I have not seen us impose a style of play on an opponent once ? Sorry but I feel that your insight into the clubs workings have blinkered your opinions and you seem to be committed to the theory that conte has been a great manager and we should be grateful to have him. Unfortunately I don’t feel the same way, I feel that whoever manages Tottenham should be invested in who we are and be proud to manage us not stipulate demands in order to evaluate their tenure. If you are a good coach you should be able to demonstrate that in whatever circumstance. He did that last year. This year has been painful.

Of course as far as on the pitch is concerned he always has. I think it was fair to afford him the time to get the infrastructure in place because as he kept saying 'the stadium will be a game changer'. Well here we are and as Conte said last week, we are only interested in young players with potential on accessible wages.

So the question is how much 'game changing' has actually gone on?
I mean we do big transfers nowadays (Romero, Deki, Richy, Gio, Tanguy...) and we invest huge in high profile managers.

Its just not working for several reasons. And Conte being too stubborn with his tactics and squad management is definitley a big part to me.

Not saying Levy is free of guilt. But the squad we have is capable of playing way better football than they do right now. I am 100% sure about it.
