We were good without being great...a few points..

* Our press was good today.. We didn't carelessly press, but we would get our shape and as Brentford would start passing backwards we would then press in a very deliberate way . and it worked.

* That is the largest margin Brentford have lost by this season.

* We were very solid at the back and created enough chances to win by a few more.

* Emerson Royal struggles to get foward (reminds me a bit of sissoko) . But he is very good with his defence and interceptions.
I wonder if he would be better at Right centre back. I think it would suit him.

* Kane is still our best creator. He must think why can't you pass to me like I do to you.

We were good defending tonight, not least because Skipp was covering and made good tackles and interceptions. Where our back line suffered was in possession when we were pressed, there still doesn't seem to be an out ball, no way out and we invariably end up losing it or lumping it. That said I don't think Brentford really looked dangerous, we were quite controlled.
Skipp starting to push forward with the ball and playing some good forward passes, looked like he was flagging by the end though.
It's slow slow progress but progress nevertheless.

Clearly we are improving but Conte can only do so much. A lot of the players, even with desire and the best coaching available, simply aren’t that good. If we can get 2 quality players in Jan then maybe we can still dream of top 4

Excellent performance, great result. Big congrats to Conte and a special mention to Davies
Laughable how many gurus and sages on SC and indeed in Spurs Digiland, wanted him sold
Stick to the transfer forums and playing Fantasy Football with continental footballers, you are probably as clueless about them as Ben
Been saying for months we should have gone three at the back. But I'm glad Nuno didn't take my advice, because we now have a top manager playing the right system
Now just keep Sanchez on the right and we're getting there
Well done Spurs, we'll done Antonio, and yes we still need another CB

Royal and his play acting is a fkin joke. Doesn’t get a feee kick and happy to lie of the floor for 5 mins sulking leaving us defending with 10 men.
I’m pretty certain it would have been noted by Conte

It truly is a great feeling seeing four youth academy graduates playing for the 1st team.
Absolutely, was thinking the same. True that Winks and probably Tangana aren't A list level
But they gave A teamers a rest
There might just be an A teamer in Japhet, time will tell
For Harry as I've said before so sad for him
Would have been an A teamer I think but for that terrible injury
Time for him to move on probably, as we need better quality from the bench

Missed the game but from what I've read we were unexciting but functional, which is a massive improvemrnt on anything else we've seen recently.

Good performance against a tricky side. Defended very well, looked like we had a clear structure and plan, created some good chances.

Love it.

The quality might not have been where we want it, but you can't fault the commitment tonight. I thought it was a solid performance and the players looked fitter too.

I'm really happy tonight.

We have been mocked , laughed at and let's be honest been absolutely shit for most of the season but we're now two points of fourth with a game in hand.

That's great but I think more importantly you can see the Conte system starting to come. It's slow and some of our players look brainless but the signs are there , progress is what we need right?

A point to make. When and it is when , Kane and Son hit anything like form it will totally transform us . Add that to the solid base and fourth is a real possibility this season.

I love Antonio conte.

I thought we were exciting, Kane was sensational at times for example, the second goal was a masterpiece, arguably our best performance of the season
Sure, City was the best result, but we rode our luck that day
This was a game we dominated, won both halves and played some wonderful football and showed some marvelous energy at times
But yes we need more quality still, hopefully at least two A teamers in Jan
