Only watching in sporadic patches.

Could someone clarify please as I thought it was a very soft penalty, to me it looked to me like Welbeck stood on VDVs foot first?
I only saw it once but looked like a pen and was certainly never going to be overturned once given

think Kulu should have had one too though and it’s ridiculous that a penalty isn’t given just because he still
managed to get a shot away

Son for Richy? Richy is surely our biggest goal threat out there right now. I think it would be very hasty to take him off now. Werner or Kulu before him, for me.
I think if we'd had son in place of Richy so far in this game we'd be at least level. Richy seems to be having one of those games where he overthinks.

Werner has made some decent chances, think he's been the best of the front three. Kulu is still looking very average.

Some hard to please people on here who lose it when we’re not winning. The only difference between the sides is a penalty for a misplaced tackle. We started slowly and have played better but we’ve dominated the second half of that half and with a bit more luck would be at least level. Some people need to realize there’s another team, and not bad one, out there trying to win the game as well.

Something has happend from the first 9 games, we are not pressing the same way, far from it. We do not look like a fit team. You can see Bentancur and Madison have been away, they are far from match fit.

Same as last week, Everton ran rings around us and looked ready to fight, we are sloppy and lethargic

When I watch a game, then nip in here to check the last couple of pages, it sometimes feels like I've been watching a completely different game.

Don't think we've been too bad and apart from the penalty, have been the better team.
Some good defending in their box has limited clean chances but we're creating more than them.

Started sloppily but the better side overall and I wouldn't change anything just yet.

Feels like every other game we give away a pen, with a shout out for the opposition with what seems like every game. Wish we would make things easier.

It's not been as bad as some have been saying. We were very poor before their goal. 20 mins on we've been a lot better albeit very sloppy with our passing all over. Bentancur having major issues with being closed down so quickly, making him look well off the pace of the game.

We've still created chances and their keeper has kept them ahead. We could have had 4 this half and I expect us to score at least 3 in the 2nd half if we step it up. I'd have Son and Bissouma on ASAP personally.

Richarlison is nowhere near as bad as a lot of people are making out here. It's just absolute negative bias ingrained in some of our fans. He's been central to almost everything we've created going forward and with a bit more luck he could have had 2 goals and 2 assists.

It didn't quite go our way in that half and yes there is lots to do in the 2nd half but it wasn't THAT bad.

Yeah that’s possible. Although I’d prefer to have Son and Richy on, than take off Richy for Son.

Also feels like huge parts of this season have just been ' checking potential red card for Tottenham'

The big problem is Bentancur just isn’t able to turn and progress the ball under pressure receiving as the 6, he either passes backwards or loses it

Half our squad has missed a big chunk of the season so i can forgive them for not being as intense in the press. I cant excuse stupid passes though

As others have said I think Werner has been a bright spark and is very dangerous on the left. Richy seems off it. Son for Richy at some point imo.

Not sure what’s happened to the energy in this team. I’d understand gradual second half drop offs but we look drained from the first whistle. We can’t get back into a habit of conceding stupid goals then chasing the game again. That became a regular thing under Conte and we can’t let it happen again.

It's weird, isn't it? I know we've had a lot of injuries but so have plenty of other teams including Brighton. No Europe and out of both cups early so it's not like we've played a lot of football either.

Yeh I was thinking the same thing. We miscontrolled the first touch on so many occasions in the first 20 minutes and coughed up possession. We try to play when we get pressed but if we don’t have a good first touch we get in trouble. Brighton on the other head when they receive the ball and get pressed just seem to take contact and go down which relieves all pressure. They’ve created pressure on themselves with some sloppy passing but we haven’t taken advantage yet.

We just look at about 60% of what we can be but I think we’ll ramp up in 2nd half.
Yeah but it wasnt only the first touch, our players just looked like they needed/felt like they had loads of time.

For example, Udogie got the ball on the left, it was a little under his feet and he had pressing player from behind.

Instead of getting another touch to buy some space, he just froze on the ball and the pressing player won i back.

Bentancur at least 4 times, received it, saw the pressing player but took too many touches instead of just getting into someones feet.

The timing just wasnt there.

Seem to have sharpened up a bit. Now need to do the same in the final third.
