Lenglet looked absolute class. Surely not hyperbole to say he’s got the spot over Davies for now?

richarlison was amazing. I just don’t know who to play him instead ? nice problem to have I suppose

Interesting little comparison yesterday Man City had 72% possession and 13 shots 4 on target and we had 52% with 23 shots 10 on target.
You have to read that as we are quicker in attack and intent on creating chances at every opportunity, sort of shoots down the accusations of boring negatively.
It's just occurred to me the bar and post hits don't count as on target.

They could help themselves by making the margin for offside wider. Or instead of using the lines, go with a very quick visual to confirm.

I thought they were going to rule Kane's out, despite it clearly being onside by the rules.
Yep they're overusing the technology.
IMO a quick visual check should be done on every goal, and unless you can see with the naked eye that a player is offside then it should stand.
All the drawing fictitious lines bullshit needs to get in the bin, give the advantage back to the attackers.

I think it's good for the other stuff, handballs, off the ball incidents, potential red cards and things that the ref might've missed, but they've sucked all the joy out of your team scoring with this forensic offside over analysis.

I thought Mitrovichs goal was outstanding. The shear power was not lost even sitting in the south stand, I think Fulham will stay up

Do people see Lenglet becoming more of a first choice pick based on today?

Early days I know...
Possibly, though we might see him more v low block/lower possession sides. I still think Conte will go with what he knows in Davies against Top 6. At least first half of season.

The past couple of times he's been in the PL, to my admittedly poor recollection, he's not been anywhere near as prolific as he has been so far this season. There's probably a number of reasons that it's clicking for him this time but I think you're right. All the time he's banging in the goals, they'll have a great chance of staying up.

It’s bollocks, it was brought in to allow more goals to stand...it achieves the complete opposite.
I hate that void after most goals where you just don't know. My reaction now is always "Yes get in! Now, just to wait to see if it's actually a goal".

If we have to have it make it like cricket. One appeal to VAR per match, if you're right, you keep it. Get it wrong, you lose it. Honestly I'd rather put up with the officials just getting things wrong on the pitch. It's not like it's a foolproof system anyway as we saw yesterday.

Thought the atmosphere yesterday in the ground was great, everybody seemed fully behind the team and up for it.

Richy was unreal, he leaves everything on the pitch. Emerson needs an honourable mention as he covers a serious amount of ground for the team.

Lenglet looked composed at the back, aggressive front foot defender but has the passing range as well.

Bentancur is an absolute baller. He's never going to get the rave reviews like others, but he does everything so well. Wins the ball, covers the wing backs, and is so composed in the middle. He was my MOTM.

Great win, on to midweek now.

I agree, some of the appeal of football is getting the rub of the green some weeks, and getting your pants pulled down the next.
The obsession with getting every offside call right down to the nanometer is just a fun sponge for the supporters. Admittedly its great when the goal against you has been chalked off...but that rush of euphoria when you score a goal has been stolen from us, I feel.

It was a great goal but the defending was awful. I've seen more commitment at under 10 games than what romero did

Shout out to Hugo. Had a bit of a stinker in the week but today made 2 or 3 great saves that would've cost us points if he didn't make them.

If its too close too call then they should scrap the lines and analysing mms and give the attacker the benefit.

Its sucking the joy out of the game.

The irony is that before VAR we'd be arguing about offsides where the attacker was a yard off. The ones where he's a toenail offside we'd just shrug and say it was basically level. Now we obsess and argue over where the line is drawn and whether the outside of the shirtsleeve can be considered a part of the body.

I think it depends, I was at the game so I’m not going to post while the match is in progress, I thought about posting at half time but then got chatting to mate about how good Bentancur is. I did post at the end of the game. I’m not sure if match threads really relate to how good/bad we are doing, I guess it could be, probably due to how engrossed people are in the match.

I think we are improving and we haven’t dropped that many points, I have zero doubt we have more gears to go through and I think a few teams are going to get a thumping when it all comes together from us.

The atmosphere seemed better to me yesterday which is good, 3 o’clock kick off so I don’t know it that helps but it seems better than at the 12 o’clock games, anyway the crowd really help when they are up for it as the stadium is such a huge asset the way it’s designed.

Also just like that a 1/4 of the league season is almost done..
