TEAM FORM: Spurs DWWWD -----Ipswich--WLLLL-----(All Competitions)

I did not have my usual source so I had to do my own research on this occasion, so here goes......

We will begin our preparations for the 2020-21 campaign with a friendly against League One side Ipswich Town at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday. We claimed sixth spot in the 2019-20 Premier League table despite finishing with a draw at Crystal Palace, while Ipswich, who have not been in competitive action since March, finished 11th in League one

We are due to start our new league season at home to Everton on September 12, while we will also face Southampton and Newcastle United in September before a trip to Manchester United at the start of October. We are facing a fixture pile-up early in the campaign as we will enter the second qualifying round of the Europa League on September 17, while the presence of the EFL Cup means that Mourinho will have to utilise our squad during an extremely busy period.

There is no question that we had our problems last term, but we only lost one of our final 10 league matches in 2019-20 and will be determined to make steps forward in the new season. Mourinho could hand debuts to new signings Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart this weekend, while some of our club's youngsters are likely to be given opportunities to impress.

Ipswich, meanwhile, saw their 2019-20 League One season end at the start of March due to the coronavirus pandemic, which meant that the campaign was unable to resume. Paul Lambert's side therefore claimed 11th in the third tier of English football and had been in disappointing form before the season was called to a halt, losing each of their last four.

Ipswich have not been a Premier League side since 2001-02, while they dropped into League One after 17 straight seasons in the second tier. The Tractor Boys started their pre-season against Colchester United on Tuesday night, though, recording two victories over the U's - 4-0 and 1-0 - with both matches being 75 minutes long. James Norwood, Tomas Holy and Jon Nolan are amongst those still on the treatment table, but Lambert is expected to send a strong side onto the field for Saturday's clash in London.

We have played Ipswich 53 times in all competitions. We have won 23 and lost 22 against them, with 8 drawn.

Of the 23 wins, 19 have been in the old 1st division, 3 in the Premier League and 1 FA Cup tie - 30th January 1965 - (5-0)

Of the 22 losses, 18 has been in the old 1st division, 3 in the Premier League and 1 FA Cup tie - 29th January 1994 - (0-3)

Of the 8 drawn games, 5 were in the old 1st division, 3 in the Premier League.

My brother is a ST holder at Portman Road and he hates Paul Lambert almost as much as he hated Mick McCarthy. Even when they were winning before Xmas he said it wouldn’t last as Lambert was clueless and they weren’t actually playing very well. So with all that considered, I’d hope that we get a few goals tomorrow even if it’s a youthful XI on the pitch for much of the game.

The result doesn't matter because it's going to be a thrown together team but I'm just happy that football's coming back.
I'm excited about this season and I love seeing a few kids get a run out in pre-season, so I can set unrealistic expectations for them!

The match hasn't even started yet but, oh dear oh dear the football is terrible - it's all long balls and no possession.

My brother is a Ipswich fan also and feels the same way saying that Lambert keeps changing the lineup every week.

As a clubs Ipswich are not great and cannot see them coming up for a very long time, they still have a good youth system and should be using that to improve the team and not cashing in and selling their best youth players Ben Knight comes to mind who they sold to City for big money.

Was at the Ipswich vs Spurs u23 cup game last season, tell your Brother like I did mine the Ipswich sausage rolls in the ground are like bricks and the worst I have had in years :)
