4-0 Liverpool.

Sorry but I just can't see any result other than us getting murdered. I probably won't even bother watching it.
Really hope not, but I agree, perhaps 5 or 6. Maybe 7 if eriksen starts/plays

We will be ripped apart no doubt.

hopefully the bin dippers all eat lasagne made by Arsene wenger & co the night before

Feel like will have a strong start, then concede a stupid penalty. From that point the floodgates will open

Less pressure on us.

If Lamela and GLC start, and we work a lot harder the game may be tighter than some imagine.

Wouldnt surprise me if they win 2-1 again.

Didn't Lamela score in this fixture last season..
Wont us scoring involve getting in their half lol?
Well that'll be an impovement on some recent games then ;)

If we put in what seems to be the usual Jose first half performance then I can see the result pretty much being decided by half-time.

Given our form and performance in the Saints game, the most likely outcome here - a complete drubbing - probably depends more on their mood than on anything we do. If they go for the jugular, they could really embarrass us and pile more pressure on to an unpleasant 2nd half of the season. Or maybe they get go two up and wheel out the subs for future battles.

But, I strongly agree with this:

Jose might want to play a defensive system to stifle them, but we simply don't have the players with the quality and inclination to do that. All that will do is guarantee we score nil.

At some point, just as Man City found out, teams surely have to try to "put it up 'em" and make Liverpool fight harder for wins. That may mean playing on the break, but it doesn't mean parking the bus and not making any attempt to have some play in their final third. You do that by being aggressive and energetic and not allowing VVD to stroll around like lord of the manor. It's a shame Sissoko is knacked now too. It might be a game for Lamela to stay just the right side of the disciplinary line and give VVD and co a kicking and a run around. Son and Moura must work close together to get their fullbacks turned around.

This is probably all moot, but I hope we have some fight in us.

I cast my vote that we’ll lose; however, we’re so unpredictable that there’s a deep down belief within that we could...........

0-0 going into injury time then super sub Troy Parrott will score the winner. We’ll then be calling for him to start every week but instead it’ll be Dier starting upfront every week.

It might not feel like it but a result here could be very important. The feeling around the club at the minute isn’t great at all. Could do with a lift

Not expecting anything at all given how we’ve played this season but sometimes football throws up a freak result or two. Quite surreal that we’re talking about avoiding a drubbing at home to a team we were comfortably above 18-24 months ago. How have we managed to fuck it up so much?

Can't stand that they could become the invincibles, so would make my season if we could beat them, but am fearing a Bayern score line
Head up. There’s always a bit of grit in the machine... maybe we’ll be that ??? ??

If I were Jose I would play a non standard formation for this one. I'd play a "442" but played with inside forwards and no one central. Liverpool's fullbacks create a lot of Liverpool's goals and chances. Both are better going forward than when forced to defend deep. I say we pack both flanks with 3 players - a fullback, an old school wide midfielder and a wide forward. There would still be 2x CB and 2x CM - its certainly something that would upset their play, take their full backs out the game, starve the forwards of ball & create 2 wide corridors where we have an overwhelming numerical advantage.

Anyone who votes anything except us losing & genuinely believes it, is deluded to say the least, I'm sorry

When we have had a major injury in the past another player has stepped up in the past .

Son is back after a rest and has been thinking about his actions too so his head is clear and motivated!

As liverpool have not lost so far, it is reasonable to say that it could happen!

VAR is the wildcard and all sorts could happen!

Jose is a great one to use the CL loss to motivate them on the pitch( probably in 2nd half though)

And it's at home!

As up and down as our form can be, pace almost always finds us out..

I'm dreading this game far more than I normally would and that is saying something, considering our woeful form over Liverpool for what seems like an eternity.
I'll be surprised if we have more than 3 shots on target, simply because I expect us to set up with Winks and Dier central and we'll face the usual no balls into the attackers issue.

Spurs 0 Liverpool 2 (only because Liverpool will take it easy on us)

I've decided to duck it, and go to the pub for the afternoon instead. I haven't been so convinced of a defeat and a dreadful performance in years.
