Vic
Porro - Emerson - Davies - Destiny
Biss - Deki - GLC*
BJ - Sonny - Gil

*if one of Sarr/Bent are fit, I’d swap out GLC
**if BOTH are fit, I’d drop Bryan and GLC, and move Deki forward

I think we will give it a great effort but with reality hat on I think we will lose. If Romero and VDV were playing I'd fancy us to win

I can see us win this if we're clinical. Son usually puts his shooting boots on for these matches.

Midfield selection is crucial, as they need to try and retain the ball to help out our patchwork defence

They have the 3rd best defence in the league and the best attack so far.

Not entirely sure we'll creat that many chances, especially when we will probably spend large swathes of the game on the back foot.

Still, you wouldn't expect to get any points there before the season even started.

This game is a write off for us really.

Far more important what happens in the West Ham game at home.

Edit: tentative prediction of 3-1 City.

100%. With Romero back, too, and – hopefully – Bissouma and Bentancur in CM. Beating WH at home will be pivotal after four losses on the bounce (yes, I know, not optimistic for this weekend).

What is wrong with you people wanting to completely rotate for the subsequent games?

Spurs fans are still the biggest mentality issue with this club.
I know right. Talking about destroying the confidence of the youths, yeah, this will be the best match to blood them against the European champions while benching our best players and stir up their discontent for the manager and club once again. 🤷‍♂️

We’ve been successful against City the last few years by sitting back and hitting on the counter - with clinical finishes.

I think with our patchwork defense and playing on the front foot we will be lucky to hold City to 3. And I don’t think we will see much success trying to possess the ball in City’s end.

Past history has no bearing on the outcome of coming matches though. In probably all the games we have won against Citeh likely no one we were confident to go there and say we could take three points. Yet we did that in some of the many occasions.

We are now in a better state of play, perhaps though maybe not many agree, just that the personnel involved are not the best we can have (imagine we do) . But in those games we won against them, we don't have the best personnel as well - Kane wasn't even playing in a few occasions.

Stay positive! Spurs is a funny club sometimes.

It will be tough but Liverpool showed you can get at City still, they ran out of ideas second half, Doku just kept running into the box and not knowing what to do after that.

But if we are to lose, keep it respectable and no silly red cards, we really can't afford to lose anyone else, we have two massive home games coming up against West Ham and Newcastle. Back to back wins in those two would get our season right back on track after a very tricky period.

It's so annoying to have our squad ripped apart at this stage of the season as we have been playing far better football than them until the Wolves game

It’s not so much past history as much as it is a certain style that City struggle against. They are vulnerable to organized defensive setups and clinical counter attacks when they are stuck up field.

If we were at full strength I think we could give it a go. But with Romero and VDV out (and probably Bentancur and Sarr) along with Maddison- we just don’t have the quality of players to beat City playing Ange’s high press. City move the ball too well, and with an inexperienced backline, we are likely to get cut open.
