It would be a great statement and a middle finger to those who think we're a bottom half team to beat United after losing a Kane a week ago. I hope Ange tells them to go out and be brave. I'd rather lose 4-3 knowing that we left everything out on the pitch than draw 0-0 thinking we could have taken them had we been more aggressive.

Looking forward to it.

What minute do people want to bet is when Man Utd get their customary BS penalty decision which Fernandes scores?

I'll go 64

They will be far more open at the back than Brentford so I think we'll create chances. Maddison will win countless free kicks and hopefully like last week we can take advantage of that.

We just have to be switched on at the back ourselves with their pace, but that's where VDV, Udogie, Emerson and Romero/Sanchez come in.

Both teams to score, could be an entertaining one for the neutral but heart attack enducing for us.

Saturday evening.
Good time to play Utd.
Wouldn't be surprised if we draw
but could go either way.
You're welcome
but don't quote me.

I am incredibly nervous about Rashford and his pace for this fixture considering how open we were on the counter against Brentford. I could see us bossing the game but being hit on the break a few times and losing. Will be interesting to see if Ange alters the tactics at all to protect our backline more.
Yes and its here that Vic must excel imo. His performances left a feeling that he doesn't yet come out far enough to narrow the angles.

Team, I have heard, will be:

Vicario
Porro Romero VDV Destiny
Sarr Bissouma Madders
Kulusevski Richy Son

The only potential change is Porro/Emerson. Apparently we've trained for both to start but the last session was with Porro.

I like that line up - weirdly i've always been a fan of Emerson and like most fans, think he is a much better defender than Porro, but after the Brentford game i did start to wonder if playing Porro would actually be better defensively, purely for his speed in the high line. Perhaps it'll be a case of Porro and Sarr in home games or easier away games, and Emerson and Skipp in tough away matches ?

Anyway, no idea of a prediction, except that it'll be entertaining, several goals , a few heart stopping moments and plenty of excitement. Basically a great game for the neutral !

That would be an incredibly brave lineup from Ange.

So I fully think it will happen. He has balls of steel when it comes to attacking football.

I'm really surprised the amount of people advocating Son playing up front. We know Son will not challenge for any headers, is weak in physical duels and can't hold the ball up. I don't understand how that is even considered an option.

I always look forward to the first home game of the season with hope and belief. The sale of Kane with no replacement has shattered my hope. I am in turmoil. On the one hand I want to give Ange and his team my full vocal support (which he deserves being his first home game) but at the same time I want that poison dwarf to feel my anger in the pit of his stomach. Refusing to spend a penny in the stadium doesn’t seem enough. Till I get to standing in my spot in the South Stand ready to sing my heart out I have no idea how my turmoil will out. COYS

Plenty of time pre and post match to protest, hopefully you can enjoy the game and watching Ange's team strut their stuff.

If true, Porro vs Rashford would be a brave and possibly foolhardy option. Having said that, Brentford had some joy down our right side, so maybe Royal is under scrutiny despite the goal. Sarr instead of Skipp is a bit of a dare too, again affecting that right side of defence.

That really surprises because Porro has been really poor defensively. Of course, maybe he’s improved during preseason. Royal is a very good defender and I think his performance last week was good enough for him to stay in the team. Some people said he was exposed a few times but that could just as much be about getting used to the system and Brentford’s focus on exploiting space behind the full backs.

If I remember correctly from last week, the team in the training sessions leading up to the game was not the starting 11 on Sunday.
