I genuinely think we have the makings of a great team over the next season or two.
The only barrier to that are unrealistic, impatient, impulsive, fans that can’t provide ever-increasing encouragement and enthusiasm.
Yes Levy can sign us a gem or two. But great coaching, great man management, great spirit and great leadership far exceed all that. Ange is what this club has been looking for. What the true fans have been looking for.
This season is about building solid foundations and injecting some fun and flair back into our game.
Give the players time to bed in.
They’re still suffering some PTSD from Conte etc. Get behind them and give them confidence.

Richy completely lost up top. Glaring we need a centre forward going into the season.

Bissouma is class. Been impressed by Sarr. Son has only really received the ball whilst static. That has never suited him. Needs to be at pace to be effective.

Agree. Plus Son’s pulling in and picking passes to the centre and to Sarr’s overlap have been our best chances.

Wouldn't mind Solomon to come in for Richy so Son can move in field as CF. But also badly want Richy to score one to get his confidence flowing. He's so devoid of it atm..

The striker is never gonna be too involved in our system. They need to create space for themselves and teammates, press, and finish chances. Don’t think someone other than Richy in that position helps much more. Wouldn’t hurt to try someone else there, but what’s really missing is a 1v1 burner, ideally a LW so Son becomes a serious option through the middle, where he’d be 10x better than wide left.

Regardless of who he is up against, it’s more of the same concerns that fans developed last season. He’s noticeably slower and now seems almost always reluctant to take on his man.
He needs to hug the touchline in this Ange system and, if he has lost his pace and his ability (or confidence) to run at defenders, I don’t see how he personally fits.
Try him up front and if that doesn’t work then…
