That's what I mean, I think as a team we have all the tools but not the knowhow and mentality to win trophies at the moment. It's no coincidence that we were the better team here today and when we played Chelsea and ended up losing both games.

We were not the better team today!!!!!!!

One nil up and lost.

Didn’t make a decent chance in the entire 2nd half.

Kane and Dembele very very poor.

Only annoyed at dembele, totlly changed the course of the game, man utd woulde had to expand if they didnt score and we wouldve caught them on a break, intstead, we let them in, they squeezed us and we let them get a goal, which only came about from lukaku's inability to control the ball on the edge of the box.

:cry::cry::cry:

Rubbish 2nd half. Outplayed again. No idea why we have Vorm in there. 2 goals. Both rooted to the spot.

Really disappointing way to be put out of the cup. We didn't fight for it.

I could understand him starting with Hugo's recent form but that second one was down the middle of the goal. Business end of the season & both keepers start making mistakes, triffic!!
I said before the game we need to fight for our lives & want it more. We got the opposite. Just gutting.
Why did we go so narrow, horrible tactics.
And Dele behind the ball when we need a goal? Just a horrible, horrible watch.

Can someone explain the comment "fuck the top 4" in relation to us winning trophies? What good will it do if we don't finish top 4? It's as important as ever.

"fuck the top 4" is a moronic comment to make. CL nights are the best and the money it generates is crucial for the club. We can have both top 4 and trophies but the manager needs to stop downplaying the cups every chance he gets.

We are a bunch of fucking legends, rival fans are spot on.

8 SF losses on the trot, we need some serious change in this football club as we are the nearly men and I am getting fed up with it and falling out of love of my football club that I have supported for 50 years.

We need to wrap up the top 4 now to keep Levy happy and go into our new stadium and just hope we don't lose too many of our players but seriously I wish Kane/Alli/Eriksen/Verts the best of luck if they want to leave. They have seen Walker win 2 trophies in his first season away, yes maybe only due to their oil money but at end of their retirement walker has 2 more medals than Kane but I know who is the better player.

I seriously don't think we will win anything under Poch, I am not calling for him to be out like some fans as he has done wonders but I don't believe we will anything under him, he doesn't have the right attitude to cups and is too much up Levy arse for getting CL football.

We want trophies and I am fed up now, 1991 since our last FA Cup win, but equally since our last SF win, yet those down the road who apparently are the laughing stock have won 4 FA cups in the last 5 years and could win EL this year.

Fucking Joke and I cant be arsed with the end of this season as for me our season is over now, so demoralised by that 2nd half performance

When it comes to the crunch we fail to produce a solution - rinse and repeat, season in, season out.

This wasn't a vintage Utd side - far from it and the real kick in the fucking bollocks is that (likely) one of Utd or Chelsea are going to lift silverware this year whilst we once again watch longingly from the sidelines.

is it? we will finish top 4 for the third year running and we havent wont anything in a decade. CL is great for money but you've got to win something once in a while.
But by not consistently finishing top 4 you further inhibit your ability to win a trophy because you can't attract the top talent and top managers too. Long term we have to consistently finish in the top 4. If we want to win a trophy, top 4 is more important than you think.

When you consider that we put Rochdale, Swansea, Newport and Wimbledon to the sword, it does put the semi-final appearance in some perspective.

United beat Yeovil, Derby, Brighton, Huddersfield and us.

When the crunch time really comes we simply do not have a good enough team, Carrick, Keane, Sherringham, Modric, Bale, Berbatov, Walker all knew this, and collectively look at the amount of Cups, Championships and Trophies that lot won.

That said, we do have a lovely gin palace to look forward to sitting in come August, and a Chairman paying himself for fun.

Feels like a turning point today. This team won’t ever do anything. They just can’t

Every cup competition this year, we’ve been gone ahead and somehow lost the tie

The blame lies in the fact we're playing a team who are littered with world class players, with one of the best managers in world football telling them what to do.
We're just not at that level yet, it's that simple.
A defeat was always a very real possibility.
We didn't lose because they have world class players. Sanchez and De Gea are their only world-class players. Pogba has World class ability but no consistency. They have some good other players a few average ones. I'd argue we had more World Class players out there today that them.

Can’t say I’m surprised, never expected to win, hoped we might, but never actually thought we would. That’s the sad part, we should win one of these games sometime, we just never do, and the fact it’s no surprise makes it all the more disappointing.

Exactly this, that's why I'm finally giving up bothering about Spurs and football in general, gonna find something else to be interested in.

Which is why we're replacing Blanchflower's 'the game is about glory' banner with 'the game is about singing along with the champions league anthem'.

Fullback area definitely needs to be looked at. Davies deliveries are so poor in particular, he's almost completely useless as an attacking outlet on that left side.

It's down to resources and cash - simple as that.
You got a lot of disagrees there but Id like to ask those people this, how many times have we been knocked out by teams that cost less than ours?
I havent checked but its not like we're being knocked out by fkin Burnley every week is it?

I think if we finish empty handed next season then we will face an exodus of players and it will be horrendous to watch. Sadly I can see it happening though. This summer is probably the biggest one we have had in decades.
