So the players either don't listen to Poch, or he's just not telling them what to do. Either way, something very wrong at the moment. Poch seems to be digging his heels in again over Eriksen and Jan, but the results are working against him. Sanchez looks all at sea at the back and we're getting done with long punts forward. I'm dreading Arsenal. They will rip our back four to shreds.
Or the players aren't taking their own initiative when the plan isn't working. Which is what was needed on Sunday. I believe they were very much following the plan, just the plan sucked and needed someone to just go "fuck it", and take charge.

We've missed that sort of player for a very long time.

That was terrible and it encapsulated huge issues with our performances for a long time, we have papered over the cracks but we've really fucked it here.
We haven't fixed the Dembele problem, We've got Ndombele but we shouldn't have a dependency on 1 player to create the space so that we can pass, you can argue all you want about whether Eriksen would make a difference but he wasn't able to coming off the bench.
Winks and Sissoko were diabolical, it was slow, sideways and all round awful they were the catalyst for our poor game and why we never stretched the newcastle defence as they could easily get back into shape.
Sanchez being out of position yet again for a goal has made Poch look extremely foolish to be leaving a player as good as Vertongthen on the bench.
The penalty was a penalty but it would have got us out of jail big time, I'd say we deserve to be there at the moment, we have a lot of problems.

Haha Poch haters are out in force today. One of the best managers in the world. Would be even funnier if we had reached the Champions League final or something only 3 months ago.

I’m not a Poch hater
I think he’s been brilliant for us but something is badly wrong and has been for some time

Ok I have just seen the Kane penalty appeal on Tele for the first time and I am astonished, the defender didn't fall into Harry he dived into him to bring him down having realised that he couldn't get to him. To be honest that's what I thought happened at the game but was ready to be proved wrong. VAR is neither here nor there it was a piss poor decision by the referees who just plain got it wrong.
I thought it looked suspect at the game but trusted VAR... Having now seen the tv replay I feel sick!

It's the worst decision since Jan's disallowed goal when he was ruled offside in our own half. He should have seen it in real life and it borders on corruption that VAR didn't overrule his ineptitude for me. But I am very dramatic.

Seems the likes of Collymore think VAR got it right, I wonder how he would have felt if he'd been Kane?

That sort of player would quickly be benched or sold. Poch and most managers nowadays don't want players going rogue.

Poch does seem to have gone a bit "tailend-Mourinho" of late. It's all a bit ponderous.

Do we even have that sort of player? I'm not convinced.

We've got one or two that blow very hot and cold at the moment, that's for sure.

No we don't, not for ages.

I saw more fight and determination in David Howells at the Legends match than in any of these lot...

So that squad yesterday wasn't enough? If Poch can't get a better performance against the relegation favourites with that squad, at home. He needs to pack it in

Agreed. I was pretty excited when I saw the lineup with Kane, Son, Lucas and Lamela all starting. Between them they have speed, individuality and the ability to score goals. I thought we would really go for it!
Instead there was no pace or urgency, a reluctance to take a shot at goal and an infuriating habit of continually passing across the pitch and then back again. Vintage Ray Wilkins! The feelgood factor from the stunning victory in the cricket had long gone by the time the final whistle blew!

by "going rogue" do you mean having a shot from the edge of the box in any of the gazillion times we found ourselves there on Sunday instead of passing it sideways or backwards?
