This is the type of match where I go into it completely confident and we just smash our heads against a wall for 80 minutes, it starts to sink in that we aren't winning it 45-0 and I get really angry. We then score some random long range effort for a 1-0 victory, only after holding on after a late onslaught of hoofed balls forward where some tall, uncoordinated footballer named Joe Linton gives our aerial-timing-challenged CB Sanchez all sorts of trouble.
Joe Linton is apparently injured, as is Saint-Maximin (great name btw).

But yes, my bone marrow reflex is to dread these games. Can't help it.

That Saint-Maximin fella comes to the pitch with that Facehugger thing from Alien on his head. It's a true power move; will definitely be missed if he can't play a part.

I expect we all agree it's annoying but wouldn't it be better to sit this one out rather than risk agravating the injury and having to sit out next week's game?

Well yeah, of course. That's not up for debate as he's been officially ruled out. Seen afew comments about how it's good that, even taking away the injury, he gets a rest before arse. Don't agree with that.

Probably right, he needs match fitness more than anything but I suppose a rest can't do any harm.

Fingers crossed that I'm wrong but this match looks so easy that I'm semi convinced it'll come back to bite us on the bottom.

I am hoping we can score first and a relatively easy win, or is that too much to ask for?

Seriously you are spot on. It’s about time we put someone to the sword properly.

Kane wants to be top goalscorer in the league and I expect him to dominate this match, Son and Moura next to him will be too much for them.

im Always more confident with a Spurs when we have tougher opposition. The plodders and cannon fodder have the ability to make us look like we’re playing on a ploughed field.

For me I'd play

Lloris
KWP DS Jan Davies
Dier Winks Lamela
Moura Kane Son

Not fussy about DS Davies or Dier starting over Toby Rose or Sissoko but if we want to give minutes to everyone then it might be a good game to do it.

Lo Celso 2nd half has to be a priority.

Our expectations of Kane are largely the issue these days. I think every game someone expects him to get a hat trick. The one I know with Kane is that if he gets chances he will take them so I just hope we utilise him better.

It's a shame Poch doesn't like crossing as with Kane's aerial ability and positioning he would have a field day if he played for City or Liverpool who play wide.

For all that are going today, just had this from spurs...

"We are expecting a number of cancellations pre and post match on the London Overground today. Please check before travelling and avoid using WHL if possible."

Typical for match days.

I think the issue is our fullbacks/wide players seem to be terrible when it comes to crossing from deep. I like those little pull-backs that City do from the touchline game after game, but we never seem to get in to the right areas.

We will win today, but it'll be another frustratingly laboured performance IMO. I used to love going to the Lane a few season ago knowing we would score 4 or 5 against the cannon fodder. :(

I enjoy the frustrating games, yes it does go on a bit and can be frustrating but IMO it allows us to work on becoming clinical in front of goal. Looking forward to today I think we steam roll them 4-0

I get your point. Guaranteed they will come and be ultra defensive and hope for a 1-0 on a counter or set piece near the end. We definitely need a bit more invention up top and as you say, today could be a good day to work on that.

No game is easy and Noocastle will have a point to prove but we really should be scoring three or four and dominating the match... i think we need a convincing performance...
