Not much on the bench to change it attackingly bar the 2 big lads up top, so need to step up second half

If there’s no improvement in the second half, take off Dele and push Foyth to midfield. Put KWP on as RB (assuming Trippier is being rested for Ajax).

Some really good stuff in that first half and unlucky with shots and final balls.

Honestly think we look solid bar Anderson getting a few chances down our right.

Take our chances in the 2nd half and we should have enough to win this.

Keep the faith.

I dont see how people can say Dele has been ineffective, he created our best chance for Son, set son up a lot and played some good stuff to get us on the break then we slow down.

And so much selfish play!
I honestly believe his 'selfish play' and that missed pass was because he is too busy controlling the ball and can't get his body into shape to make the pass ie lack of technical ability. Really llooking forward to him showing his generational talent in the second half instead of his Salah imitations.

Put some nice moves together in patches, but not great so far and got more scrappy as the half went on.

Having said that, we've had chances to be ahead. Son and Eriksen had decent chances, and Alli ruined two great opportunities to slide a player in on goal because he wont play a first time pass.

Don't like the balance of the team. I think Rose in midfield has done well, but Foyth is providing nothing down the right. Eventually trots forward and gets involved in some of the play but when you need a quick transition run or for him to have provided width and got ahead of the game he's nowhere to be seen, and defensively he has got away with his positioning getting on for a dozen occasions. I'd prefer we get an actual RB on.

Son, Alli, Eriksen have all not looked sharp at key times, in fact Son in most of his play, but I guess we have to just keep plugging away and hope someone has a moment where it all clicks, like in midweek.
In fairness to Foyth there’s been a number of times when he has been unmarked on the right and all the play has gone down the left.

Ok both Moura and, in particular, Eriksen had fairly big chances but where they got the ball close to the goalie...but shooting straight at the goalie hoping that by a miracle the ball will go through the goalie won't do it...

I understand that Trippier is being rested but is KWP that bad that we have to watch Foyth constantly out of position with a WHam player often free on his side in acres of space or easily getting behind him. Perhaps in time Foyth will be great there but how often played there so far in his career? Now is not the time to to experiment.

The final ball has been on so many times in the channel, West Ham’s back line not straight, just lack of vision or poor execution has been the biggest problem, Dele the biggest culprit. I’ve got to admit I do find him frustrating as a footballer just holds onto the ball far too long and can’t seem to increase the tempo.

Son seems to have lost his ability to beat a man the past two games. Looks slightly fatigued to me. He's out against Ajax then hopefully rest him against Bournemouth so he's fresh for the 2nd leg.

I think you're forgetting Foyth is a centreback.

Not the best performance from us so far, a tad negative with our passing but it looks like a very clear tactical play to do deep build up and then cut through or behind them. I think our style also involves keeping it fairly tight if possible in first halves of games get to HT mabye a goal up or if not then 1-0 and then 2nd half we wear them down, more gaps open up and our pace and movement will hurt them, it’s a fairly sensible tactic, similar in ways to Manchester City, the risk is if we don’t take our chances and the other team nick a goal at some point we are a bit stuck but most the time this approach does pay dividends.

COYS , nice early goal 2nd half and comfortable 2/3-0 win please.

It's not the two up front that are not providing enough movement, it's the three other midfielders, none of them are making the runs between the lines or between the fullbacks and centrebacks, Alli in particular has been ineffective.

yea maybe. though i wouldn’t expect Dier to be making forward runs. possibly Rose a bit more.

Agree with Dele. i think he looks sluggish and unfit - both physically and mentally.
