I really just don't fully understand how a team like that with a manager like Mourinho can't hold on to a 3-0 lead.
It wasn't Aurier's fucking fault.

Aurier didn’t make an error today?
Poor poor result but serves as a reminder that this team still won't achieve much until this shit is sorted.Freak result??? It reminded me of Newcastle but with more goals.
The problem is, by the end of the game, most of our best 'game managers' were off the pitch or knackered. It was a bit of freak result, West Ham, didn't threaten and got very lucky.
What we need to be is more game smart, the moment West Ham got the first, we need to just kill the game, take time with everything, knock the ball around a bit more, players need to go down and time waste. Something to take any momentum out of the game. Kane is great at doing it, but we need more players to switch to that winning mindset.
These are the small margins we are talking about. Better game management and we'd have come away with the three points.
I agree, it's a complete lack of game management and tactical flexibility for me.It was a bit of freak result, West Ham, didn't threaten and got very lucky.

Quite agree it was Sanchez's at 3-1 no panic at 3-2 - wobbly.I really just don't fully understand how a team like that with a manager like Mourinho can't hold on to a 3-0 lead.

See ya...I'm done, I'm gonna support Leeds instead, bye

Counter attacking football is all well and good but sticking to it at 3-0 up and trying to hit them constantly on the break is what did for us in the 2nd half. We constantly surrendered possession and really needed to pass the ball more.
I thought Son (goal apart) didn't have a great game, constantly surrendered possession. Bergwijn was the same too.
I really don't like Kane dropping deep all the time either, the number of times there was no one in the box added to the frustration for me.
Love it.I'm done, I'm gonna support Leeds instead, bye

The initial situation with Aurier was in fairly safe territory. The subsequent free kick was pedestrian. The follo-up on the deflection was horrendous, and there was a very good shot and some dumb luck that ended in a goal. Was it Aurier's fault that Lanzini had a once-in-a-season finish? What else is Aurier at fault for would he have prevented Covid and Brexit if he just took the notes from Spurscommunity?Quite agree it was Sanchez's at 3-1 no panic at 3-2 - wobbly.
However it is so often down to Serge he is always likely to give something away.
I said the exact same thing to my son while watching. Snodgrass muscles his way in front of Aurier and then falls to the ground. The contact was completely initiated by Snodgrass. He knew what he was doing and the ref fell for it.
The Ndombele sub was strange for me but I actually think it was West Ham playing well more than us doing anything particularly badly. They'd been pressing us and putting us under pressure all game but in the first half we were managing to break it occasionally and get Kane on the turn to cause all sorts of problems. Once they worked Kane out a bit they started to get control and create some dangerous situations.
Like I say that's why I thought keeping Sissoko in CM whilst Ndombele came off was madness. You might say he's on for the set pieces but got out jumped yesterday for the goal and the way I see it the more you keep the ball the less dangerous free kicks and corners you give away. If there's no need for us to counter and we just want to nip it around and waste time the opposition are obviously going to put you under pressure and Ndombele barely ever loses the ball in such situations.
I'd have taken Sissoko off for Winks or stuck him out on the right for Bergwijn. In retrospect, the Bale sub was probably a mistake considering how much joy they were having in the wide areas. I think he should have maybe gone 4-4-2 after 65-70 and then a 5-4-1/4-5-1 as below if we were still having problems. No chance they'd have had much joy in that scenario.

Aurier -- Toby -- Sanchez -- Davies
Sissoko --- Winks --- Hojbjerg --- Ndombele --- Reguilon
