I said he was a better attacking option than Modric. Not a better player.

He was voted second best young player of the WC. Deal with it. More than Modders has won since being here in the awards column. But that thread was locked remember?

Everyone watching him were eating their words as they watched him for Mexico. Most wanted him to be given another chance after the games.

If GDS had played 100 games for us like Modders, could you 100% claim that he would have less impact than Lennon or Bentley?

Anything you say is conjecture. Anything I say is conjecture. Because HR not playing him, is not proof conclusive that he isn't a great player.

Pretty sure that it is given that Harry is one of the most experienced and respected men in world football, and could be said to know a thing or two about evaluating footballers.

Kane scored again ! has anyone actually seen the guy play? Is he big, small, slow, quick, able to play up front alone. If we win tonight would we play him against Twente?
He's the bollocks, got the lot, BUT...we will wait for him to fall just like the others, EXCEPT with Harry at the helm now i think we may have a little glimmer, coz this kid could, and it is a big could, be a little(big) gem

Dos Santos is coming back from injury, so I suppose this was more a run out than a reflection of his best position.

Being in the USA, I watch most of his Mexico games. Amazing talent. I still think if he was given more mins he will prove himself. He hasn't been given time to prove himself. That is for sure.

I mean HR called him out on his fitness. Do any of our players work on that if they don't play day in day out? Kranj looks fat, Lennon looks like a shadow of himself, Modric takes forever to get in the groove etc etc. Why one set of rules for the Bentleys, and another for GDS?

he is going to go espanyol in january on loan. rumours(and i dnot know anyone at espanyol) that in part exchange for javi martinez

erm.....so we only played better once Sandro and GDS came off to be replaced by reserve and youth team players???

No, the only sure thing from the report is that we only scored once they came off.
It's a very brief report of a friendly. The first half in a friendly is always likely to be more competitive. Ipswich may well have started with experienced players and finished with younger ones.
Who knows? Was anyone there? Is there a better report anywhere?

I'll get a proper report by the weekend.

in his best position

advanced right wing/forward cutting in

if that formation is accurate then he was playing left wing

If that's his best position, and not playing in that position is going to be the excuse for not performing then I say ship him out. We play 442, 4411 or occasionally 451. When's the last time we played 433? VDV wouldn't fit in that system and he is ten times the player Gio is. I'm sick of all these boozing and late for training rumours as well. He's had his chance in my opinion. He's not going to get near our first team at the moment anyway.

Well if he does well for Mexico then he must do well in the English Premier League. What with them being the same level and all.

Yes, looking half-decent against the deadbeats of CONCACAF means he'll monster the EPL.

Did I say that?

I just see him being able to do things PHYSICALLY that the Pavs, Keanos, Modrics, Crouches, Defoes etc can't do.

He has Bales shooting power, Lennons zigzag, great strength/balance, tidy pace etc etc. He again is the wrong type of player for our shape. but he would be mustard in the Crottenham role with the 3 advanced central mid fielders on the right.

He generates real top corner screamer bulging net type of power with little backlift.

He's been fucked about lets face it. When he has been given the chance it has been out of position with too many instructions. If HR had said the same to him as he said to VDV (no specific role just express yourself and drift) I am sure you would see a different player.

But only after 5 or 6 full 90 mins because it's tough to burst on to the scene after this amount of time out.

He's a conundrum and a maverick. And a fkn Spice Boy unfortunately.

He's been at the club for long enough now and hasn't impressed anyone enough to get into the team. He hardly set the Championship alight when he was there and as far as I know has been fairly average at Galatasary.

He's not better than Lennon, Bale, Modric, VdV or Defoe (which I think covers just about all the positions his apologists say he can play) so I don't see a place for him at Spurs.

Maybe we'll get some decent cash for him in January.
