Ideal for him..Rovers play good football and pushing for promotion.

We really don’t make the most of our academy at all. Not just the lack of players that make it at first team level but also making money on it. Chelsea are the best at it. Giving youngsters exposure in either the first team or on loan and then selling them on. Gallagher for example hasn’t kicked a ball for them but he’s had a couple of good loans and an England cap and all of a sudden he’s someone they could sell for £30mil+ if they wanted to. Feel like our strategy is hope they can play for the first team or let them go for basically nothing. It’s nonsensical.

Anyone know how long is left on his contract? Guess if its fairly short, we left ourselves in a difficult place, not expecting how much he'd tear it up this season. As above, hope there is a but back at that price..

Yes.

Quick, extremely agile and quick footed, a good dribbler and can play right, left or even central this season.

He would have been an excellent option for the 2 behind Kane and he has shown this season he is developing a killer instinct in front of goal, which is especially valuable for a left footer playing from the right.

2 weeks wages for Tanguy equals Markanday, bloody hell Spurs. If we'd just given him 3/4 games he'd like have re-signed and been worth 10-15m minimum.

Yeah you can assess talents and players in training as you want, some just really start to shine in a competition. We could have figured that out in the Conference League group stages or in games against Morecambe. Its not that we are stacked with goal scorers. We were allowed 5 subs in the Cup comps and can always bring at least 9 subs with us but we were not capable of giving a lad, who does his job of producing in the U23s week in week out a little chance. Not saying we are missing out on a world beater or definit PL talent. But selling someone like him for 500k/1m and getting guys like Clarke in for around 10m doesn:T sound right to me...

I can understand that Dilan wants to leave. Probably not up for just hanging around like KWP did for so long.

I saw him play in an u23 game at oxford recently and was not that impressed if I am honest, but he might just have had an off night, and Dane Scarlett was way under par that night too.
Not sure how many young players have left us to make it big if I am honest - Madeuke is doing well but probably still work in progress. Going back further we have Souness of course.

Edwards, Madueke and it now looks like Markanday. We do seem not very good at bro going through exciting attacking creative players through our academy. Do club owners not play football manager? Surely they must know if you give them 20 or so games their value will rocket up and you can then either loan them (to raise value and potential further), sell them or use them in your first team. It’s quite easy. I don’t understand what we have gained by playing the players we played over Dilan in the cups this year? I mean did we sell more Dele Alli and Steven Bergwijn shirts because they played in those games?

Well, you don't mention name, but I assume you're upset about Levy? But he'd love for Makanday to play. His initial vision was us building the team around our academy. If anything this is Conte to blame, and the managers before him. It's they that don't want to play and develop youth. This is just the club saving what they can of worth and possible future buy back options. I reckon we'll see very few breakthrough under Conte, he's one of them managers who select any senior player over a youth for the bench no matter the position. We've seen 2 goalies and at least 3 CBs on the bench already when someone like Markanday could have been an option.

I’ve just seen some stuff from Hercules in transfer forum. So I presume he thinks Conte will still be backed this window. And also seems like he doesn’t rate Markanday, which I’d massively disagree with. Markanday has 100% deserved more of a chance this season and nothing will change my mind on that.

Yeah, based on that seems a more reasonable one. Would still hope there is a but back, but also get we can't just insist on it, all parties must agree.

Such sad news about Markanday. I'm beginning to hate this club. So glad for Dilan, at last he gets a chance to prove himself. Hope he becomes a star, and am confident he'll prove himself to be worth more like 15m than 1m
