Not sure if we are aware that our ex youth product, Luis Binks, who left after letting his contract run down at 18yrs, is currently getting games for Coventry in the Championship. He is on loan from Bologna.
now 22yrs old. Quite highly rated I seem to remember when he was with us,

Was he the lad that that went to the USA, I think to a club that have links with Bologna which is why he ended up there?
He was highly rated iirc but our academy was being so neglected at that time, he was one of many we lost.

Hasn't really gone to plan for him. He was convinced he had to leave for the good of his career and its hard to argue with him, but he hasn't probably reached the potential everyone thought he had.

On another note Santiago is on the bench today along with Dorrington and Donley. Not happy with Ange picking two goalkeepers on the bench again. Its petty, because its for the sole purpose putting pressure on Levy. C'mon, dude, you're better than that. Sh*t like this is what creates problems with youth players who feel they'll never get a fair shot at this club. I don't like it, don't like it all.

I'm not sure he's doing it for those reasons, tbh. In fact, I don't think he is.

I'm not sure that there are too many other available options to fill the bench and with Forster not being a long term option, perhaps he wants one of the younger keepers there to gain match day experience.

This is better than having an empty spot like last week and maybe says something about which youngsters Ange thinks are ready and capable.

I wonder whether his agent at the time, David Dein's son, might have had a certain bias in his advice to him to leave?

Gil is so ******* poor. That's why there's nothing to lose on a player like Santiago. It's not possible to be less effective than Gil.

Though it was only a minute, Donley made his debut! I think we'll see him get more off the bench this season. Also, really happy to see Yago recovered from his injury.

Great for him to come on in that game albeit for little time. Good call by Ange.

Yeah, although there was so little time left, it was a big show of trust all things considered.
Hope he builds his game time from now til the end of the season.

Yago has just come back from an injury though, so we don't really know how fit he is.
He could be a 10 minute option like Richy.

Plus, we paid some hefty cash for Bryan and Ange hasn't had the chance to see much of him yet, so it's understandable to give him a game.

I said before somewhere on SC, that I think Ange is using this time to make his mind up on some of the fringe senior players, rather than completely overlook them for the youth.
He has to be seen to give players a chance otherwise he's not setting a good example to those coming up.

What does it say to the club and the future if he completely dismisses the likes of Bryan, without really giving him a proper chance.
It's a fine balancing act.

I agree with the idea but what about Tanganga and Rodon?

I think they may well have wanted to leave because they'd spent a few years wasting away.
Ange may have been open to letting them go but I think the loans may have been player driven, more than Ange wanting them out.
They probably looked at those ahead of them and realised that they weren't going to get the minutes they needed to keep their careers alive.

Nobody could've predicted that they may have got a chance because of calamitous injuries/daft suspensions all at once
