3-0 Santiago.

Another great finish from the young Spaniard. Gets played the ball on the left, he takes his man on and from a tight angle he side foots the ball past the keeper to the far post.

4-0. John.

Ball ends up free on the edge of the box and John is there to strike into the far bottom corner.

It's another rout for the u21s

Is it an over-reaction / too early to say this is the best the U21s have looked for a long time?

The players look perfectly suited to this Ange system.

Very well balanced and complimentIng each other well.

Are any of these games online anywhere besides Spursplay?

(Edit: these posts have me salivating to watch.)

Santiago is a real understated talent, nothing ostentatious about him at all, just does his job and very effective he is too. Out of all the talent on show he could be the one to break through, looks very mature.

No, just spursplay. There is a YouTube account that shows highlights of some academy games, it showed the highlights of our 5-0 win last week against Man City.

U21s looked seriously good today all across the pitch.

Very technical group. Beat the Newcastle press like it was nothing. Santiago seems to be developing into quite the player, could be one to watch this season.

just watched interesting thate white played inverted l/b
LB seems to be a clear gap in our academy setup, with White and Robson plugging in. Ashcroft looks solid on the right.

Any of our youth watchers aware of any promising left backs coming through in the younger age groups? Trying to poach one of the highly rated LBs in the England youth setup could be an astute investment; with a fairly clear path to the first team given how thin we are there in the senior squad [Sess always hurt; Davies old and Reggy a likely departure]

I really don't think HG issues should be constraining our transfers, we have some good talents coming through the academy

Honestly I would just activate the £6m buy back clause with Sunderland for Cirkin.

Expires next summer so we have time, but I would lock it down with a loan back as soon as possible.

We probably need Europe next season to make it an attractive squad role and minutes given Udogie's level.

Club trained, great talent and attitude, and fits the system.

Between the two that would be LB sorted for years.

On top of that we have Rio Bromfield in the U16s who has been in various England and Germany youth squads.

Never seen him myself, but gaining a reputation as one of our better prospects in the U16..

Interested in any takes from anyone more knowledgeable here...

Roshaun Mathurin on trial with Crystal Palace. Seems to be doing well. I was disappointed he didn’t get more chances last season after coming back from his ACL injury, though in fairness he had Mundle and Santiago ahead of him.
