Few things..

1) He doesn't look 16. He's a unit. Like when actors in their early 20s play teenagers in film and TV.
2) He is HALF my age. I do not like it.
3) Regardless of whenever he is officially set to join in reality, I will be moving him immediately on FM.

The Man U crop of 92 is so rare especially the level of success they achieved with giggs also part of that team, we’re gonna need a few to be at least of the quality of squad players though once we get back into Europe for club trained squad requirements. Hopefully next season we’ll have Europe of some kind and trim the first team squad a bit to allow chances for these kids
Are you guys forgetting the team that came through with Kane in 2013/14. Kane, Mason, Bentaleb and Townsend. With Carroll and Caulker having just broke through the season or so before and Winks coming through the 2 seasons after. That is some fantastic production.
Even if some of them didn't stick around for too long we sold some and made a really good profit from academy players.

He's 16, although he looks an absolute unit at 6'4 and very muscular. I realise that sometimes a young talent is good you've got to just get them in but it does feel a weird one when you consider that we have Dorrington & Phillips.
He won't be coming to us at least for another 2 seasons. He can't move until he's 18.

Croatian kids are always technically sound so this is a good buy. Vuskovic and Mikey Moore to lead us into the new generation 🤟

Yeah but they're both like 19, 20?
This is succession planning for them, someone who's a couple of years younger and can fill the gap they leave, should they end up able to step up.

I'm totally all for this sort of signing, get these youngsters into the academy and let them grow.
It doesn't always work but it's something that we strayed away from for a while so I'm very happy to see us signing young talents again.

It's so good to see us paying attention to the academy again because in all reality, with the likes of City, Chelsea and (soon to be) Newcastle, this is our best chance of being competitive.
Both Dorrington and Phillips were born in 2005. So they are only 18. But still 2 years older than Vuskovic.

No idea if he’ll turn out to be good, but this is the recruitment we need.

Whoever is in charge, or whatever the group is, we’ve really made a turn for the better in the last 18/24 months.

Have to think Paratici is a big part of it

Or the new DOF?

No one has definitively explained why though.

Until this deal is announced by the club we won't know for sure how it's structured.

Personally I'm in favour of him doing a full season of senior football there.

Due to FIFA rules: there should be no movement internationally under the age of 18, and second, minors cannot be registered for the first time in a country where they are not a national. This applies to every international transfer of a minor, male and female, and professional as well as amateur. There are, however, some exceptions to these rules, which are:

1. The parents of the player move to the new country for reasons that are not related to football

2. The player is over 16 years old and is moving within the EU or within EEA territory, in which case the new club has to (a) provide the player with adequate football education, (b) provide him with academic/school education in addition to his football education, (c) look after the player in the best possible way, and (d) provide the relevant association with proof that the aforementioned requirements are met

3. Both the player and the club are within 50km of their shared border and the distance between player and club is less than 100km

4. Five year rule: The player is registering for the first time in another country after having lived in said country for the last five consecutive years

Thanks very much - always really appreciate your helpful posts. How does this compare and contrast to someone like Paskotsi who, I'm sure, came to us younger than 18?

Paskotši joined in Sept 2020 and at that point the UK was still in the transition period 3 months before the Brexit agreement was implemented.

So I assume that’s the difference with Vuskevic.

Even though we left the EU in January 2020, for reasons I haven't yet found, the rules didn't effect the PL until 1st January 2021 and Paskotsi arrived in September 2020.

Edit: @JamieSpursCommunityUser explained why above.

Amazing how many promising teenage players parents got jobs in Manchester, innit?

I think it's more likely Leonardo Gabbinini is the key figure here. Paratici is working as a consultant, so I am sure he throws in his 2 cents, but essentially, it is Gabbinini leading the line.

It's been suggested on other forums that it is a trial run to see how well he works with Ange, and If they work well together, then expect a paper promotion as he's doing the DoF's work already.

Italians do It Better. Around London they have been thinking this way for years, and it is no coincidence that the watchful eye of a talented Italian Chief Scout was also quietly in charge of the new Tottenham this summer. Leonardo Gabbanini is among the faces of the Spurs transfer market that has returned enthusiasm this summer despite the 'forced' departure of Harry Kane, who did not intend to renew his contract and therefore left for Bayern.
Gabbanini worked with chairman Daniel Levy always on the front line and in close contact with the new manager Ange Postecoglou, achieving the set objectives. After Udogie 's arrival a year later, Vicario was a low-cost deal already approved by Spurs fans, an immediately excellent performance.

But also Micky van de Ven in defense for just over 40 million, the masterpiece James Maddison for modest sums with an already high-level impact on and off the pitch, the confirmation of Kulusevski on a permanent basis from Juve... and the Manor Solomon opportunity to zero, a smart deal despite being on the list of many other clubs.
There was no shortage of the final blow from Deadline Day: Brennan Johnson cost over £40m from Nottingham Forest but represents Postecoglou's vision to follow, talent and versatility rather than a traditional number 9 to replace Kane. There is also the Italian brand on Tottenham 2.0.

Newcastle have struggled at youth levels for years but the new regime have clearly looked at Man City and Chelsea as the way to go. Over the last few weeks (or longer) they’ve been getting (buying/tapping up/whatever) an absolute ton of talented youngsters from lower division sides and abroad. It’s going to be an almighty punch-up over the next few years.
