Someone put a line up for youth team, no idea what age group, a little while back from a tournament and he was on the bench

Is Ramell Carter even still that highly rated due to his on pitch performances? Genuine question, because I’ve heard very little to suggest he’s actually one of the better players in the current U16 side and he doesn’t seem to get selected for England either

hasn't seemed to be called up for England U15/16 group either at any point.

He's wearing Spurs gear in his most recent Instagram, albeit from July.

Although he also describes himself as a model/actor rather than a footballer??

Isn't Ramell Carter "hyped" just because of his TikToks and eye-catching, but inefficient, dribbling technique? Don't think he has much more than that to him at the moment.

Probably, never seen him in a match to really judge

Is it just me that finds talking about a kid this young this way a bit inappropriate?
How is it innapropriate?
Genuine question, not being a dick.

I suppose people are just enquiring as to whether the next superstar (potentially) is progressing as they had hoped and this is a little different to others as he already had a profile

Spurs are stingy on visiting families at the lodge, literally only allowed 2 family members in, so it’s a choice of the missus or one of the 3 other kids to go tomorrow, not experienced that at any other club in the leagues 😂

Very much so. These boys start thinking they have made it when they have done nothing.
The idea of offering thousands of pounds to young boys, or more likely their parents ,just so they sign for a club is not great.
Will only get worse as the big clubs are looking more at very young players to try and save some money. Buy 4 or 5 15-16 yr olds and if one comes off you are in profit .

Could be going through growth spells m, quite common at this age so they’ll not overload etc, May not grow properly at all, so hard to judge kids whilst they growing, some grow, can’t get used to limbs after, or suffer injuries etc - even harder for the social media driven kids too, as a real level of expectation on them, specifically when it’s part of a bigger club worh a bigger fan base wtc

Not really. Vast majority of Chelsea academy graduates have been there from 8 yrs old. With Todd Boehly going bonkers buying loads of new young players they are trying to stay within FFP by selling off academy players. All the income from them is pure profit . Poch has got himself a nightmare of a job there.
Ivan Toney will be available in January …..what bets Chelsea go in with a big offer. Will be their most sensible buy if they get him. United will probably be in as well if they can afford him.
Doubt we will be in there.

Don’t think anyone is talking inappropriately about Carter at all tbh. No one is hyping him or equally putting him down as a player, just people that aren’t aware of how well rated he is within the club are looking for more info on him as a player. People are naturally going to be more curious about a young social media sensation. Us guys talking on a forum is unlikely to influence anything, the attention and extra income he’s had from the social media stuff is unlikely to have helped him develop though as it’s just a distraction. Could probably help him find another club more easily if he doesn’t cut it here though, so I guess there’s more than one angle to look at it from.

I'm sure many if not most young players have Googled their own name, and read threads and forums such as this one.

Worth noting that he has left his YouTube account dormant since he was 11.

He had 100k+ subscribers back then (still does) and would easily have had 1-2m by now and a very comfortable income producing content.

It seems that he made the choice to sacrifice all that and concentrate on his football, which I think shows tremendous dedication and discipline.
