The commentator said they're averaging 3.5 goals a game. I'm pretty sure he said it after the 4th tonight but might've been before.

Edit - yeah, 29 scored over 8 games, that's 3.625 goals per game.

Curious - for those who have watched a lot of our boys play for the last two or three years, what are the differences between Donley and Devine?

They seem to play somewhat similar positions. But, like I noted, I haven't seen them play consistently enough to know one way or the other.

Also would love to know of the two, which has the most upside?

Others will be able to give you a better idea, but I'd see Donley as more of a 10, and Devine ultimately as more of an 8.

Donley spent a long time as a striker coming up through the age groups, and I think this year is the first season he's properly dropped drop back to play as a 10.

Was talking to my brother and we thought about who would be the best 11 we would choose from the youth team of players we think have the best chance of making. It was actually really difficult but this is the team we come up with:

GK - Keeley

RB - Abbott
LB - Ashcroft
CB - Dorrington
CB - Phillips

CM6 - Hall
CM8 - Devine
CM10 - Donley

LW - Moore
RW - Irow
ST - Veliz

It was really difficult in some positions as we have left out very good players in Kyermaten, JSB, Black, Akhamrich, Chaplin, Lankshear, Scarlett and Olusesi.

Also we have put Abbott at right back even though he has kind of been playing CM so cheated a little there.

Two changes, Veliz isnt really a youth player, I'd swap him for Lankshear, who I think is faster and more robust than Scarlett.

Second I'd put Abbot at LB and Leo Black at RB. Both of these fullbacks are tailored made to play ange's inverted fullback system.

Other than that, spot on list.

Funnily enough I actually edited it to include Veliz and had Lankshear in as Veliz is just so young.

Yeah I thought that too. Leo Black has a lot of potential and looks great on the ball.

Also think it’s a little harsh on Kyerematen as he is only 3 months older than Hall and plays for the U21s already. It’s great we have so many talents.

I guess you class Veliz as not a youth player due to playing in the senior squad at times? Otherwise his age is the same as Keeley is 20 also.
