Tough moment for Josh Keeley today as he makes a big error to give away a 90+9’ equalizer. Hopefully he’s able to turn it into a learning experience.

We have not seen countless Mikey Moore's. No one has.

For his age he's regarded around the world as a generational potential talent.

Overall I get the point you're trying to make and Moore is no sure thing, but he's genuinely a very high level above just about anything we've had come through the academy for an incredibly long time.
Above Edwards? I seem to remember exactly the same language being used for him - generational talent, world class potential. I'm sure Moore is a talented kid but the hyperbole from us fans is all too familiar.

My memory might go back further than some because when we signed Bostock and Taraabt it was the same.

Here's an example from some of our posters that were quite familiar with youth talent:

Player x fits that, he is just about the best U18 footballer around, a few years he could be at that level. We missed out on Ousmane Dembele last year, let's not miss this one.

He's one of the most sought after young players in Europe, already appearing and scoring goals for his club

Imo he's streets ahead of where bale was at same age .This kid has it all .

Who is this player you might ask? I'll give you a clue, he's still on our books but we barely remember the poor guy's there.

It's takes an incredible amount of hard work, the right environment and right advice around and a large dose of luck for someone like Moore to actually make it to the first team so when we get the praise that he gets it reminds me of all those that came before him

The problem we have had over the last couple of decades is our academy in general has been pretty poor in comparison to a lot of other clubs, and the players that have stood out have certainly been over hyped. The academy now is actually very strong as has been proven by both the 21's and 18's topping their leagues. On top of this the 18's and 16's also won their league cups last season to further prove that point. Mikey Moore is the stand out player at our academy that contains a lot of good players.

Thing is you can forget all that because he is a stand out player for his age group across the entire country, and by "his age group" I mean the under 18's and the kid is still 16. Of course this is no guarantee he will go on to be a world class talent, but he's not like Edwards, Bostock or Adel, all three of which had off the field issues. He's thoroughly dedicated and even if he started to wobble his old man would soon have him back on track because that's the type of family he comes from. Honestly mate this is basically the consensus of everyone I speak to within the game.

I genuinely hope you're right, for spurs and for him of course. I think we'll only know when he starts competing in senior football and that's where the conversation came from because that is what Parrott is currently doing.

Moore aside, it's interesting that you (and others) say the academy is the strongest it's been for a while and yet Ange made his comments about the academy being well being where it should be.

I think his point was that it hasn't been producing and that's why our club trained options are what they are, and why we are forced to bring in HG options from outside. Not that it doesn't have players in it right now that won't make the grade in the future. Remember it's only really been since Fab came in that we started to revolutionize the set up.

The papers this morning are running a story that City are looking at Tyrese Hall. Will be interesting to see how that goes, a good test of just how attractive we are for young players.

Having never really seen anything of him, I just had a look at a few clips on Youtube. Obviously the usual caveats apply - highlight reels aren't going to show his weaknesses, it's youth team football etc - but based on those clips he looks a very similar type of player to Mousa Dembele, is that a fair assessment? He seems to have an awareness of what's around him to take the ball in tight, central areas and roll defenders or stand them up and go past them. Based on the 3 minutes I've just seen of him, it seems extraordinarily unlikely that he won't become one of the best players in the world.

I always think that the good youth players are the ones that have that innate bravery and that ability to take responsibility of the situation. From what I have seen of Hall is that he has that. He doesn't hide from the ball, he makes himself an option and he continues to try to progress the ball. He'd be a bad loss imo if city took him because of everyone in that side he's the one I like the look of the most

Top of both youth leagues guarantees nothing. West Ham won the Youth Cup last season, only the big centre forward has had a few sub appearances.
There are obviously some outstanding prospects but who can tell. We need someone to turn up like Kobbie Mainoo and look the part from the off, As yet no one has.

I don’t think I’d be too against parrott filling the role that Velez/ Scarlett has filled this year.
Unless Velez smashes it in Spain.
Having said that we will probably need more players next year to cover the amount of games so if Werner doesn’t stay we will need at least 2 of the above mentioned.
I can see Parrot being used in the squad as part of the HG quota next season as he wont qualify for the U21 list with the slightly younger players being sent out on loan, otherwise we will struggle for overall squad numbers, Not ideal squad usage but maybe helps us through a year or two until some of the others like Sarr come into contention for that category etc.

Spursplay has recently added 5 upcoming youth games plus one women's games to the schedule.

First up is tomorrow's U18 FA Youth Cup game against Bournemouth @ 19:00

Such a shame the youth cup game isn't at the stadium, I probably would've gone to it if it was.

I imagine Hall will look at the Bergvall acquisition and think that perhaps he's got better chances of progressing outside of Spurs.

He's going to face the same or tougher competition in City's academy. It'll likely come down to money and/or guaranteed first team involvement from us and City. Fingers crossed that we can convince him to stay. He looks fantastic.

It would almost assuredly come down to money if he makes that move. Much like Chelsea City use their academy primarily to make money and get around FFP, if Tyrese were to make that move he should be expecting to then be sold in 1 to 2 years time after joining City.

From City's perspective it's probably worth grabbing as many decently rated HG players as possible, farm them out to one of their 'other teams' and then sell them if they do well.

PL teams seem to be willing to pay a premium for HG players that have proven themselves in a foreign league.

If he’s got anything about him he will see it as a challenge. Not as if many other big clubs don’t buy young foreign talent .
Survival of the fittest , as always. He looks a really top prospect .
Next season with probable champ lge and better cup runs there will be plenty of opportunities for our young players. Especially as Hojbjerg will go, poss Lo Celso as well.
