We've made incredible progress since we were depending on Bale to constantly dig us out of holes and get us through games. We now have a fantastic XI and strength in depth everywhere. I'd love to get Arp in and to see Onomah reach the required level.

This is basically the team Poch should start against Newport ... if Winks not fit then give TOB a run out.

Let’s see how he fairs against Liverpool. A 433 with small, nippy, pressing midfield is a far sterner test

He flourished largely because Jose set up Utd all wrong. That and he’s always had a thing for Utd - we signed him pretty much off him demolishing Utd playing for Fulham.

And Jose set United up all wrong as he did not have enough to cope with our CM, which Dembele bossed. Maybe we should give our players the benefit of the doubt rather than look for excuses for why they looked good.

agree that Winks' potential is sky-high but as Dembele is obviously in decline we need another CM this summer.

We need a deep lying playmaker who can pick a longer pass but I don't think Winks has shown enough to justify your claim.

As for your comment on Dembele, did you watch the last two home games? Dear me.

Ps pretty much everyone was shite v city, Newport and Soton, no need to scapegoat the Beast for those performances

Not looking for excuses. I’m a big Dembele fan. But a season is not one game. As others have said, he’s been very honest about where he’s at
