That 5k is a massive difference. I believe they managed to succeed in the early 90's in part to having a bigger stadium, and it was less that 5k bigger. Also there are rumours they want to expand to 100k and they could easily sell 70k.

There's no reason to sell ourselves short, it's going to be more expensive in the long run if we build a stadium that's still too small. Building a 100,000 seater stadium in a better location would also allow us to hire the stadium out for things like the CL final, or concerts, which would bring money into the club. Right now those events would either go to Wembley or Arsenal
Rumours exactly. Fact is, cashburton grove can never be expanded due to the perimeter wall being the main structural support.

FFS, why do we always have to be that little bit smaller than Arsenal??

36,500 WHL to 38,500 Highbury, now 55,000 WHL to 60,000 Emirates.

Why dont we just have 61,000 just to get on their tits and have some bragging rights?

Does anyone know whether it will be a 50k or 60k seater stadium? I hope its the latter, it's not like we can't fill the damn thing... Its gotta be at least as big as the Arses stadium, surely...

It needs to be similar size. Hopefully they will design it as a square stadium and not a stupid round thing.

60,000 shouldnt be a problem to fill, we will have CL football, Decent team and great ground. People will want to go every week!
