By the sounds of it Watford don't want go as well.
The alternative was to watch them go bust, because that was going to happen mate. What they did to the Wimbledon fans was disgusting and should never have been able to happen. Imagine this happened to us and they moved our club to Bristol.
Go out of business. No decision to make. The alternative was to watch them go bust, because that was going to happen mate.
If that was Spurs, and it was either go out of business or move 50 miles, what would you rather happen?
Why?Go out of business. No decision to make.
Because I'd prefer not to watch football than see it become an American-style franchise system. Why?
Its an awful situation for the fans, but why choose to make the club cease to exist?
Because I'd prefer not to watch football than see it become an American-style franchise system.
That's all a bit romantic to me.Because I'd prefer not to watch football than see it become an American-style franchise system.
Fair enough. Everyone has their own principles and lines in the sand - some people have posted they wouldn't want us to win the league with Chelsea/Man City-style financial backing, but personally I don't have those scruples and would love to see that happen. My line in the sand is that I hate MK Dons and everything associated with that kind of culture (see also: competitive domestic games being played overseas; the idea of PL clubs having B-teams playing in the Football League etc): it's different for everyone, but those are the things for me that I couldn't get past. That's all a bit romantic to me.
Any variant of Spurs is better than no Spurs IMO.
Thats fair enough mate, im with you with the overseas games thing, and not the fact that Man City have loads of cash...but that they now have bought up a selection of feeder clubs around the world.Fair enough. I live overseas these days but if I was in the UK, I would go because:
1) I was living around 30 minutes away and it’s easier for me to get there than to WHL
2) it’s a good stadium and I think the atmosphere could be fantastic
3) I’m a spurs fan and I’d support the team wherever they play
At the end of the day it’s just for the league cup and not a big deal. I don’t really get the fuss is about to be honest, yes we are a London team and yes we should play our home games in Tottenham. But we are also a massive club with a huge fanbase. Think of all the fans close to Milton Keynes and the surrounding area who get to go to a game and watch their favourite team play. Could be great PR for the club if they do it properly.
Can someone explain why we couldnt play this at Wembley as we have been doing last season and as we are doing this season? A tad confused why we need to play it at an alternative ground
You mean the AFC Wimbledon who recently struck a deal with Chelsea, leaving Kingstonian homeless?Out of respect for Wimbledon FC & AFC Wimbledon
Out of respect for Wimbledon FC & AFC Wimbledon, Id never set foot inside this franchise stadium.
Id like fans to vote with their feet and not attend
The bullshit romanticism surrounding that club baffles me, it really does. Why the fuck would you have respect for wimbledon? I think people forget how scummy that club was, destroying stevens career and almost blinding mabbut.
one way of looking at it yes... another is AFC saved that ground as Kingstonian had gone into administration and lost the lease, offered them cheap rental terms for over a decade, redeveloped the ground and eventually made it too big for a non-league side to use.You mean the AFC Wimbledon who recently struck a deal with Chelsea, leaving Kingstonian homeless?
Yeah, they're a lovely bunch.
