Stan Collymore- Tottenham should have signed Gonzalo Higuain or Edinson Cavani

He's been sacked from Talksport

Hadnt heard that - but great news.

Perhaps they might get rid of a few more like Durham and bring it up out of the gutter a bit.

Know why they act like prats, but Talksport could try offering some more quality sport coverage and debate

I thought he left TalkSport because they were bought out by the same people who own The Sun? Same reason for Colin Murray?

Isn't it a bit early to say that he was a steal and perfect back up to Kane when he hasn't actually scored for the club yet?

Not at all, regularly scoring for the Netherlands, in the appearances he has made he has arguably been better than Kane and is exactly the type of player that fits our intensity and pressing. I'm one of the more optimistic fans that doesn't just say oh he hasn't scored yet its not just about that, it's about the 3 points and how collectively we are doing as a team, i can see in his performances for us and internationally that at 17m you'd be very hard pressed to find a similar striker at his age and with his quality set.

It doesn't matter what he does for Holland, it is about what he does in a Spurs shirt is what matters for us. So far he has played a bit part role, his performances haven't been anything of note and he hasn't scored for us. There has been nothing so far to warrant such comments, to warrant such faith. It's far too early to make a judgement either way.

Personally I quite like Stan collymore on talksport.
On the other hand I have a real dislike of many of the stations football commentators, shouting as loud as they can when someone scores a goal, and generally sounding like they are going to wet themselves. Embarrassing and fake.

I don't mind him as a host, but it falls down rapidly when he shares his own opinions on things.

I hope you are right and he's just taking time to settle into a new club and country

He lost me at 'great white hope'

Had a white writer written 'great black hope' about a black striker he would have been hung drawn and quartered (or at least sacked).
You know it's a fairly common saying, right? It's like referring to someone as the black sheep, there are no racial connotations whatsoever...

He has a point though. Yes we are well run financially, but all the successful teams in the premier league (except Leicester) spend big and pay big wages. We might get lucky with Janssen or he could be the next Soldado.I think Collymore is saying that when you buy a big name striker, you buy 25+ goals a season. If Kane fails to find form like last year and Janssen has a poor first season, then where do the goals come from?

Since the EPL formed we have been outspent consistently and our trophy haul/lack of CL presence reflect that.
