As if we would sell him - I can't see City being willing to offer enough money to turn our heads.

Does anyone think Levy would sell if offered 20 million?

For £20M he'd be a fool not too.

Currently Caulker is our 3rd or 4th choice CB. He may develop into a very good player but equally he may not. He is worth a premium to clubs like City because he is English. Without that accident of birth I doubt if they would be interested at all (in fact given that this is a Daily Fail article they almost certainly aren't). We have plenty of young English talent so don't have to go paying over the odds for it. For £20M we could buy a better CB prospect than Caulker (eg Diego Antonio Reyes) and have £15M change.

All hypothetical of course because an article in the Mail is as likely to be true as the word 'democratic' in a country's official name.

He's also quality and club trained. £20m is a lot of potatoes but we'll not get offered that for him so they can get knotted.

Caulker still has a long way to go to become a top class centre back. I was a bit disappointed with his perfomances at the olympics, got out caught out of position and out muscled a number of times, he doesnt seem strong enough to me at the moment, something which may develop over time. I'd be delighted if we got £20 mil for him right now.

For £15mil, I'd keep him. Last thing we want to do is let him go and watch him turn into a world-class CB. £20m and above gets tempting. Judging by the feedback from each club he has been to, he will develop into a top player. IF it's true, I hope we keep hold of him.

I do believe that city MIGHT be interested as they haven't got any cover at CB apart from that Savic muppet, but this deal would never happen.

It's not as silly as it sounds Caulker had a good season for Swansea has been picked for both GB and England...City could offer between 15-20M for Caulker and that will really test our metal, personally we need to keep him.

Agree, those rich pricks may well try it. They just bought Rodwell for 15-20m and he's been injured for most of his short career.
Think their idea is to build a young English spine through the team, but we need the same and Caulker looks a player so we should definitely keep him.

Caulker, Vertonghen, and Kaboul could realistically prove to be one of the best trio of CBs in the PL over the next couple of years. You'd be hard-pressed to find a group of CBs with the youth, upside, and proven talents that that trio can boast.

No reason to take away from a strength right now when it's so easy to control for years to come.
