Caulker came through our Academy, so hopefully even allowing for his loan spells, he counts as a "club home grown player" for UEFA competitions. So, in addition to his proven PL ability and immense potential, that "Spurs home grown" status makes his value to us several million pounds higher.

Few "club home grown" players are first teamers at the top European clubs. They're usually forced to include youngsters and fringe squad players to make up the 25-man list.

Ledley King was Spurs home grown and an automatic first choice pick when fit.

Caulker has the potential to become a first choice CB at Spurs, so add £5 million to whatever any club is offering.

Personally, I still wouldn't sell him....

Doubt it, he's made 98 less league appearances at the same age
