What a disgusting victory for us. Shocking.

Meh, a win a Stoke is still good and I really don't want us to go behind United

Phew! Thank goodness that is over and at least we came away with all the points.

A game to forget in every other way.

Les Ferdinand (and, I presume Sherwood) doesn't like 'defensive midfielders'. He thinks that all midfielders should be able to attack and defend with energy, skill and pace.

I happen to agree with this. Defensive midfielders have only become trendy in the last decade or so. Before that, all midfielders were supposed to pose a threat going forward.

The fact that we have retained a threat going forward will probably be a factor in this result.

That is all well and good if you play players who can do both, which we don't.

So that's either genius from Sherwood or was it that Stoke can't finish for shit?

Playing a DM would make us more attacking

No i was really wanting a four - nil loss like most on here.

Win ugly. You still only get three points.

Winning ugly to me mean being defensively solid and not allowing the opposition chances to score whilst taking any limited chances we might create.

Today we relied on the piss poor finishing of the opposition to win the game so no I don't think it was winning ugly.
