Yeah, no problem with how Stoke played today. I mean, they are an absolute disgrace to football but we knew that at the beginning of the game. I do, however, have a problem with their fans for having the temerity to boo the best footballer on the pitch for being scythed down for the clearest penalty of all time, although I understand than your own sister being your mother does lead to mental instability.

thought Modric dived myself

We let in 2 goals against this shower. Address that first.

They don't lose many at home and regardless of our poor defending on both their goals, we were robbed of a victory today by scandalous referring.

I disagree. A poor decision cost us another goal. Not neccessarily a draw or a win.

It wasn't just one poor decision though, it was several extremely poor ones.

He gives the clear handball on the line and they are down to ten, we were all over them for most of the second half.

Crouch clearly controlled the ball with his arm on their first goal.

Had we lost and deserved to lose, then there's no issue's, but today was just a fucking joke.

We conceded two goals which were part bad defending, part bad luck, which although is slightly subjective, Crouch's handball and how the ball managed to squirm straight to Etherington on the first and the ball looping rightover Kaboul for the second.

But end of the day, you win some, you lose some and we will get the rub of the green more often than not this season and this single result won't derail what can still be our best league campaign for many a year.

Do you think we would have missed four penalties?

I've never really considered these sort of decisions to be accumulative. If one of the penalties had been given, a completely different series of events would have been set in motion, so any subsequent errors would never have taken place.

The fact they are allowed to make their pitch smaller to stifle our wing play is what really gets my goat.

And I don't mind that their fans are loud, it's just the fact they're total mong tards for whistling when we had possession/at Modric.

Their pitch size has nothing to do with it, The pitch at the brittania is 115 x 75 yards this is with-in the permitted allowance for size of pitches, just like we have a more expansive size due to the nature of how we play, You have to adapt your style when you go to different grounds due in some part to the size of the oppositions pitch. Horses for courses really.

That took the piss today. Football is the beautiful game, it's supposed to be exciting and exhilerating to watch. Stoke turn it into a complete fuck fest of shit.

You can't even say that they 'play' football, it's shocking what they do in a game. It's completely anti-football and just not in the spirit of the game.

Stoke really drag down the quality of football in the PL.

I don't mind losing, i don't mind losing to a shit team, with terrible reffing, but i do mind having to watch a team turn up and do what Stoke do on the pitch.

I like the fact they dont waste corners or throw ins in dangerous areas - pisses me off when we have a throw in level with the opposition's penalty box and we end up back with our keeper.

However when will a ref do his sodding job and actually see Stoke's manhandling in both boxes????? They get away with murder and its a disgrace.

This.

It's ridiculous how often they get away with it. And its generally that f**k Shawcross, I'd love to know how he manages to sweet talk the refs so often.

Sound like Arsenal fans in here, I have no problem with them, they play direct, they're physical and they're effective. Contrast in styles makes a game more interesting. Despite how they played, and how well they played today, had the ref made the right calls we would have won.

This.

Rubbish Barca-loving football purists. There's more than one way to skin a cat. You need to deal with Stoke and their set-pieces and, anyway, thought they played really well in the first half.

I can't believe they've sewn towels into their shirts after the FA told them that they're not allowed to use them. Surely it doesn't matter if the ball boy hands them the towel, they use their special shirt/towel combo, or if they pull the the thing out of their fucking arse holes like a magician pulls coloured hankies out of his sleeve. It wastes time and stops the flow of the game, time in which people have payed their hard earned money to watch football!

If that stat is true about Stoke taking 3 or so mins per game for throw ins then over the course of a season they are wasting about a game and a half drying the bloody ball! That doesn't even take into account the time wasting from goal kicks and the like.

Their fans made me sick today just as much as the ref who I won't really comment on because the swear words that I require to describe him haven't been developed yet. I think they must boo players who their team hack down as a way to suppress the realization that the team they support are a bunch of dirty, cheating morons.

Being a strong and physical team with an amazing workrate is great, they are attributes that everyone wants in their club. Blatant cheating is a different matter though and I agree that it's the Ref's that are to blame for allowing it to happen every weekend.

I don't see why Stoke should be able to get away with it because "its just their style of play". If we played like that in our next game you can be sure that we'd be down to 9 men before half time. There are many different styles of play which is the way it should be but a foul should be a foul shouldn't it?

They're so frustrating to play against. But to be honest I respect them and what they do.

Just because it's not popular doesn't mean it won't work.

We absolutely destroyed them second half. If we weren't so sloppy in the first half, we'd at least have come away with a point and we'd have all talked about how good Modric, Bale and Kaboul were, instead of having to discuss the anti-football tactics of Stoke.
