Bullshit. Not that he'll go. Just not to Stoke. Doesn't fit imo.
Cant get in our team is a f in joke.
Played right wing almost every game when we were flying and playin CL.
Now deemed not good enough for that embarrassment we turf out every week.
For the love of God stop playing him if you're gonna stick him on the left.
He's a f in RIGHT WINGER, he cant play on the left.
Play him on the right and Townsend on the left. Give us some width and pace to get s in the box for Soldado.
Oops. Sorry. Forgot. 4231 is the way forward. It'll take time. Blah blah blah.
Take time? I'll be a f in 106 by the time we play CL football again playin like we are now.

Just for the record... yes, Ive drank a whole bottle of red (y)

Just imagine the huge goal scoring potential of Lennon, Soldado and Townsend. Yep, that will carry us into CL football. Maybe we would be challenging for the title ?

Is it something to debate though - would using orthodox wingers and getting crosses in to Soldado and Kane playing off him yield any more?

I've got to admit, I don't get inverted wingers and what the purpose is. We always seem so narrow. My perception is that it depends on full-backs creating width but ....

Would those crosses be coming from Lennon? If so, I would suggest that the answer would be 'no' ;). I like Lennon and his final ball has improved but not a great deal.

Haha, very true. Lennon and Townsend aren't known for delivery but the wind might blow it to someone or a deflection could help us out.

The point of inverted wingers is that actually they are no wingers at all - they are wide forwards.

They are supposed to run at the centre of defence and create for the centre forward or create chances for themselves by getting in behind the defence.

Our problem is the way we recycle the ball between the middle 3 being too slow and too static. We aim to pull players around but our movement isn't good enough and we play too slow.

But we don't have those fullbacks playing right now, so play orthodox wingers. Both Kane and Adebeyor are strong in the air.

It will be a very sad day for me the day I see Aaron Lennon leave our club. He's been with us almost his whole professional career and I have some wonderful memories of him Bale and Crouch on those CL nights. I still think he is better than some of our current crop and It baffles me when he does play that we play him out of position on the left!

Beware any newspaper article that contains
the words 'swoop' and 'pecking order'.
Strictly for the birds man.

Maybe Lennon isn't best on the left, but these days if he is played on the right, when does he ever beat a man and get a cross in? In his prime he was fantastic, but I think those days are long past, so I wouldn't be unhappy to see him moved on.

why is Lennon past his "prime" 'Yakflange'? If he had been injured I could see it, but I don't see why he still can't continue to beat full-backs.....maybe lack of confidence?
Still another reason to start playing him on the right where he belongs.

I wouldn't like to see Aaron play for another team, that just wouldn't sit right with me.

He would also pull Danny Rose's pants down.

Fact is if you're playing left back the last person you wanna see in front of you from our squad is Lennon.
Not Townsend. Not Lamela.
Lennon.
And I agree he doesnt look great at the moment but how often is he played in the rw position.
And we're not playing fast enough for him to be effective anyway. Its no good bombing towards the corner flag when we've just plyed 25 passes across the back 4 and the opposition are now completely camped in their goal area.
Fact is we are not being set up to get the best out of the players we have and THAT is down to Poch. No one else. Not Levy or Dof or shrinking pitch.
I'm hoping he finally sees this and we see some changes in how we play next week but not holding my breath.
This will be another nail in the coffin imo if he goes.
