Lucas Moura gives the ball away stupidly all the time but he’s not being given the same treatment.

There’s nothing wrong with honesty but you need to be fair. He’s got a track record of finding a player to blame.
I think with Dele it's where he keeps doing it. These flicks are fine when you have 7-8 other players between the ball and the goal. When it's 10 yards outside your own box it's an issue. If he's been told not to do it and yet does, I can see why he's getting criticism. Of course this is hypothetical, but I could well imagine it being the case. He had a good first 45, but he was very poor after the break. Jose was asked a direct question and answered it directly. Not a problem for me.

He’s hardly played this season.

Clearly somethings happened and they’ve fallen out.

He does and it is annoying, but lots of our players give up possession. However, it's different if they are trying to do something, like take a player on or make a pass rather than just playing a blind flick which may or may not come off in their own half.

For me it's the nature of the loss of possession. Why it really grates Jose I can't be sure but anyone can lose possession, losing it through unnecessary attempts of flicks and tricks is very frustrating though.

Very short memories of how good Delli Alli can be and how much he contributed to the best times under Pochettino.

Suddenly he’s the whipping boy despite hardly featuring this season.

I think everyone must know what Mourinho’s faults are. Certainly if you’ve been following the Premier League over the last 15 years.

Let’s try to stay in reality and not be sheep.

My family is completely split with us and Brentford. It’s never been an issue before as they’ve always been a crap little club. However over the last 6 years they’ve been run very well and last season were as good as any team in any division to watch. It won’t be easy and they won’t fear us at all. Our advantage will be that they only know one way of playing and are very stubborn to change their approach

I agree I always look out for their results.
And they do play some really good football.
For me the man to watch is Toney he has been a great signing for them.

We need Mourinho much more than we need Dele if we want to win silverware, which doesn't mean that Mourinho is flawless. It seems like Dele has lost his real passion for the game in the last couple of years.

It’s perfectly fine to back Mourinho but when he’s wrong we need to point that out too.

No good being sheep that just turn on any player he’s got a problem with.

I’ve just rewatched their goal and it goes from their goalkeeper all the way to our goal with some atrocious defending by our players. Certainly not a goal where you’d turn round and mainly blame an attacking player for doing a flick.

As I said Mourinho needs to start playing some football that doesn’t make everyone want to turn over before he can point fingers.

Very happy he’s with us but he’s always been a baby and pointing fingers instead of taking responsibility for any failures. It’s ok to be a dick at other clubs but at Tottenham we have higher values and he needs to respect that.

(...) the notion that your advanced players arent going to give it away (...) we'd always score.
What a brilliant idea - we should do that! Never give the ball away and score all the time - why has never anyone thought of that before? It´s so simple but yet genious! :):)

Moura has also been dropped

What nonsense is this about losing the lust to play? Henham a good first half and made one terrible mistake that was almost a game-winning move instead.

Mourinho's double standard for mistakes is terrible management and I've defended his tough stance towards Alli before.

I now forgive Bent for that sitter v Portsmouth

Sometimes you need to do those flicks to make a breakthrough...

unnecessary flicks is a different issue. But the action in question wasn't totally unnecessary. If it worked we were in on goal. Issue I'd those type of flicks come off rarely

How much he has played this season is almost irrelevant as he has been doing it for the past two seasons or more. He is a wonderful player when his confidence is high and his teammates can find his runs into spaces but he continually gives the ball away too frequently. Moura is the same so is Lamela and so is Son when his radar isn’t working. What Mourinho says to them has remained private and I am certain he has had plenty to say to Dele privately but it hasn’t worked. Now he is trying to sort him out by speaking more openly. What else can he do if Dele isn’t heeding the alive/instruction given privately ?

I like Mourinho but you have to acknowledge that he’s picking on Alli.

Painting anyone who disagrees with you as being biased is childish.
Noone is above criticism at all but I am sure that you would acknowledge that there are posters who do wait for form to drop off before wading in with their dislike of him. I have no problem with people pointing out where they think (because it is all about opinions) that he has gone wrong but there are definitely people who don't like him, have never taken to him and can't wait for the opportunity to be proven right.

As far as Dele is concerned, I'll leave it up to others to decide whether Jose's comment was correct or not. I dare say that there is more to this than meets the eye.

I didn’t want Jose as our Manager but he has done great work with the squad since his arrival. His record of success is second to no one so I must assume he knows what he is doing. His comment about Dele I am sure will not have been the first time he has mentioned this to Dele. Dele seems, unfortunately, to be doing his own thing rather than following the Managers instructions.

This is a great draw, not just because I didn't want us to meet either Utd or City in the semi, but because as a kid I was a Brentford fan. I was born in Hounslow and both my mum and my dad's families were crazy Brentford supporters. My dad took me to Griffin Park to watch my first game in 1947, not long after he had been demobbed after the war and once football had returned to its pre-WW2 format.

On match days many of the local residents turned their front gardens into 'cycle parks' and we cycled the three miles to the ground and parked our bikes in one of these gardens for a few pennies and queued up to get in the ground. Memories, eh?

Aye, those were the days. You could go to pub before game, watch the match, take wife out to cinema, buy her an ice cream afterwards and still have change out of a farthing. (apologies to The Four Yorkshiremen)
