OK, hands up who screamed “DON’T SHOOT” at TV as Davies was lining up that shot
You think that’s bad...

Remember Eriksen scoring with his face when he pussied out of a header and the defender headed it onto him at White Hart Lane..?

Well, I didn‘t say anything then, but I yelled it when Kane scored that screamer against Arsenal to make it 2-1, where he ripped off his face mask to celebrate.

you honestly dont see the difference between a manager humiliating a player publicly and an anonymous internet forum?

He’s asked a direct question. He gives a direct answer and explanation. None of it is humiliating whatsoever. That’s complete fairy tale nonsense.

The annoying thing is that his flicks very rarely lead to anything positive. It's mainly nonsense from a player who has a hard time doing the basics right nowadays, let alone all that 'fancy' stuff.

JM has a long history of this thing with one or two of his players. I dunno why - maybe he just likes to keep the players a little unsettled.
It's similar to the story you hear about Orson Welles. Not sure if it's apocryphal or not, but apparently in his earlier days as a director, he'd hire a random actor just so he could fire him and by doing so exert his authority over the rest of the production. Again, not sure how true it is, but it's an interesting story.

You're not just questioning FIFA or the FA though. You're questioning the pundits and ex players that are pulling the balls out. Considering this shit gets brought up at every draw for every comp, that's an awful lot of bent ex pro's out there.
Precisely that. It's like the fake-Moon-landing conspiracy-theory. The fact that 40,000 people worked on the Moon landings and not one single person has ever come forward to say that it was faked suggests how credible the theory is.

For a Manager who is willing to criticise his players so harshly maybe he should look in the mirror and work on his attacking coaching.

I like Mourinho but he has some unfortunate traits.

we lose possession all the fucking time. Kane has sloppy touches regularly, taking too long on the ball or trying dribble moves that rarely work. Lucas is an error machine, he will find ways to be dispossessed every game. Bale the same, he had several miscues making cross field passes that lead to players gaining possession with room to run. and I could go on about Ndombele, Lo Celso, etc. etc..

was Dele right to try what he did? maybe not. is that enough to single him out on a goal where we show several other flaws and in which no advantage was created off Dele's error? fuck no. he could have pointed that out in training, in the locker room, I don't care. not in public. especially when he protects other idiots who do idiotic things constantly.
The difference is that when they lose possession it's not because they're trying something high risk. It's a heavy touch, a run that doesn't start at quite the right time, a pass that's misplaced. They're not trying to do something risky, they're just making a mistake.

And we're talking about a player who doesn't seem to be delivering the basics. Maybe if he was doing that, doing what his boss wants him to do, then maybe Mourinho would have been more understanding when he tried something that didn't come off.

Its also how what he said came across.. I haven't seen the press conference just some select quotes. But given Dele had a decent game for 45/50 minutes you would think any half decent manager would be bringing this up instead it appears that Jose has just gone straight for Dele throat and blamed him for a goal conceded when there were at least three more players more to blame for that goal. Just cause Dele had the audacity to try something different and not play like a robot which appears to be the Jose way.

 And therein lies the problem, too quick to pass judgement because it's all too easy to follow a narrative.

This is gross.

Pathetic of Mourinho to once again find a player to use as a scape goat.
Not directly linked to this, but I don't think I could ever like Mourinho.

I respect him as a manager, I hope he does great things for us as a club, but I will never sing his name or see him as a "Tottenham" man. I'm OK with that at the moment.
