Have to say I'm pretty amazed we've known Kane was leaving all summer and we seemingly don't have a substantial plan to not only replace him, but also use his departure to change the narrative around the club of us being a spent force and destined for mid table. I mean obviously I'm used to Spurs being incompetent and reactive in the transfer market, but this is surely an exceptional circumstance a la Bale's departure. Surely the plan to replace the world's greatest striker doesn't amount to a punt on a young lad from the Belgian league who may or may not work out in a few years time. Surely Daniel knows how absolutely terrible the optics of that would be. We simply don't have enough pace, creativity, trickery or goals in our squad.

After the sales of Academy players Kane and Winks for pure book profit, we now have the highest ffp manoeuvrability in the league at over £500m.

How on earth has our summer transfer window just halted? There are no media links for the outgoing players and we have 6-7 of them. Without them going it looks like business is finished and we have almost 2 weeks left. Need to get these deals going asap because we need to make a few more changes of the squad.

so far we’ve gotten rid of Kane and winks. So much for the all the big statements at the start of the window again.

I’ll say this quietly as know he’s popular, but Brentford really attacked our right side and Emerson was left for dust on several occasions. I don’t think we will this summer but honestly think a better right back would transform the defence or a centre back who plays on the right like Kounde, Pavard(I know we’re not signing them).

If Hojbjerg leaves he must be replaced. Lavia would have been ideal.
We need a right winger who has some pace.
Centre back and a striker.

We won’t sign all of those this window.
Problem is we’ve got three on the books, one of which is the massive white elephant of Porro.

To be fair to Ermerson, Rico Henry is absolutely rapid. Surprised no top 6 sides have come in for him. Would fit Newcastle like a glove.

I’m surprised there has been so little movement this week. At least with the outs.

I Can't imagine clubs are exactly queuing up to sign Tanganga and Ndombele at the moment, think it'll be quiet until the last few days of the window realistically. I am surprised how little interest there seems to be in Spence though, would have thought Forrest would have been all over that.

Forwards x5

Son Heung-Min
Richarlison
Manor Solomon
Dejan Kulusevski
Bryan Gil

It still feels like to me like we are a Maddison or Romero injury away from being a bit average. I hope we can address this one way or another during the remainder of the window.
I feel like we need Maddison and Romero to stay average. If Maddison, especially, gets injured, we're below average.

Look at our forward options, posted earlier. This idea that we'll spread goals around post Harry is wishful thinking I reckon. Only one of the five has previously performed at a prolific level, and has since fallen off a cliff for at least one whole season now. The rest have no pedigree at all really.

Postecoglu has his work cut out if he can't shift 6 or 7 of the dead wood and get at least one decent/reliable scorer in.

Yep, agree with most of the above. If we do not go out & sign a few players between now & the end of the window the stadium could turn a bit toxic against Levy.

Yeah it's really tricky as two of them are essentially wing backs as you know. I just worry that it's going to be our Achilles heel this season and will be constantly targeted.

Whoever is in charge of outgoings at the club either needs help or to be replaced.

It's ridiculous. They constantly can't sell and end up loaning or all but releasing these players.

I'd be hoping we sign three players. Quality CB who can cover LCB and RCB e.g Laporte. A classy ball player who can add some fluidity to midfield, obviously someone to cover Bentacur would be perfect but you can even look at a fullback with top class distribution if we're doing the inverted FB thing. Then a traditional winger who is happy hugging the touchline. Son can play up front and is probably more suited there than on the wing, so we can save money on a striker until January.

Laporte is a no go. Think he is off to Saudi.

I think Emerson is pretty good as a defender generally. Not many teams have pace like Henry and are as good on the transition. He’s good enough for this season for me.

It is for the all the world seeming like the club spent the Kane money speculatively on Madders, VDV, Alejo and Philips.
I would not be surprised if this is the squad we have for the first period of the season until January now perhaps with the exit of Lloris and PEH. I do hope we can add to the squad and offer Ange what he wants but it does seem as though things have not really moved on and things are very quiet. Perhaps streamlining the squad for the time being is the most important first step. Disappointing mind ....

We don’t need any one player to be particularly prolific to remain average though. Emerson and Romero scored on Sunday away versus a Brentford team who finished ninth last season. Last season we drew the same fixture 2-2 and the season before 0-0.

I think we have enough in the squad to compete with the likes of Fulham, Palace and Brentford even without Kane and even with a few injuries. But I think we will struggle to compete with the top six or seven clubs if we lose Madison or Romero. And of course no one thinks finishing tenth is acceptable- we of course should be aiming higher.

We desperately need the following this window:

CF (not a young kid with potential)
WF - pacy, can score and good 1vs1
CB cover

The fact we are only linked with Orban is very worrying. His all round game is not ready for the prem at all and he will need a lot of work.

We also seem to be the only team that struggles consistently to sell our players.

Once agian we are leaving everything to the last minute and will probably be left short as always. No other team would sell their best player, the best CF in the world and not adequately replace. This window is simply not good enough and extremely worrying so far.

Yeah without a proper goal scorer coming in I can’t see us getting top 8.

I doubt we challenge for top 6 unless there's a game changer signing or two. Maddison keeps us just below that and we drop further down without him for an extended period.

Yet another day with practically no much movement on outgoing department. There are about 7 to be cleared, as things stand Hugo, Reguilon and NDombele can't even be on squad come september wether they have left or not. Two more non-hg need to go too if we want to bring in 2 non-hg players, Höjberg is transferable and Dier or Sanchez might attract enough interest, but rather silent on those fronts too. Spence and Tanganga don't block slots, but Ange probably doesn't want extra persons to hang around squad unsatisfied. White should be quite easy to offload.

Without Kane we need to splash out on at least two ready-made quality attacking players. Ideally three. We have one in Maddison. We need bare minimum one more. Bringing in prospects is great, but when you lose someone like Kane you need to replace the output immediately. We’ve sold for big money so no excuses.
