I don’t see a HG problem. We can have 17 over 21 foreign players.
Three more than we're allowed to register atm

Bissouma
Romero
Son
Kulusevski
Lo Celso
Richarlison
van de Ven
Solomon
E.Royal
Vicario
Perisic
Pedro Porro
Bentancur
Højbjerg
Bryan
Sanchez
Reguilón
Dier
Ndombele
Lloris

I do feel like a lot of our links are somewhat tied together in terms of dominoes falling, and I think we'll have to keep the holistic squad in picture when looking at moves developing this week.

For example, many probably want GLC to stay (I would as well). But when you take everything into account: 2 years left on his deal, interest from Spain, he's currently the "back up" to Maddison. IF a good fee came in for him, could it be possible to take the money and go get the HG option in Gallagher? So it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Sanchez/Dier both have connected links to Monaco and Fulham currently, with Tosin being linked to come in.

There's also been rumblings with Nottingham Forest interest in some of our players as we're interested in Johnson.

At the end of the day - it wouldn't surprise me if we take up 1-2 of the situations where we get 1 HG player in, while being able to shed 2 "fringe" players. Again, hopefully it's for the betterment of the squad!

Reo Hatate is a similar player to Gio, knows Ange's system and shouldn't cost anywhere near £50m
That’s an interesting shout. If Gio isn’t starting tmrw, bookmark this one as I bet it gets revisited. If Gio moves, we absolutely need another creative player.

Johnathan David and Gift Orban, anyone watched much of either of these two?

Great goal scoring records both of them. Like the look of their profiles.

I think we need to think carefully about moving on Hojbjerg and Sanchez from this point. We are going to be able to replace them and they clearly have a role for Ange

Ndombele, Dier, Regulion, Spence, Tanganga, and Lloris all need to go.

So 3 games in and based on the squads selected so far it looks like the following are not in Ange’s plans and ideally we sell them before end of the window:
•Lloris
•Spence
•Regullion
•Dier
•Tanganga
•Ndombele
•H.White

How does it work in terms of the final squad of 25 which we submit, do certain younger players no count as part of the final 25 for example could a 3rd youth goalie be called upon but not registered in the 25?

Based on the 3 games so far with no further signings I assume the 25 would be something like:

GK’s:
Vicario
Forster
Whiteman / other young 3rd choice GK

RB’s:
Porro
Emerson

CB’s:
VDV
Romero
Sanchez
A.Phillips

LB’s:
Udogie
Davies
Sessengon (currently injured) ???

CM’s:
Bissouma
Skipp
Sarr
Bentancur
Maddison
Lo Celso

RW’s:
Kulusevski
Solomon
Gil (currently injured) ???

LW’s:
Son
Perisic

ST’s:
Richarlison
Veliz (won’t get minutes until 2nd half of season)

So regardless as to if we sell or loan the players not in Ange’s plans, we will likely not be able to register them anyway which makes me
Hopeful that their agents will find deals for them and/or we will cancel a few contracts if needed.

The final Q is then if we need let’s say minimum to sign another top ST & CB, would we then perhaps not register a 3rd gk or not register A.Philips and let him train with the first team but play matches with the U21’s and/or do we not register one of Sessengon or Gil or Veliz or only register 2 GK’s instead of 3 but due to the rules we could still call upon a young 3rd GK in an emergency if needed?

This is how I see the puzzle 🧩 it also makes me think it’s very unlikely we will sign a CB, RW and a ST and certainly not another CM unless PEH goes perhaps but I think another CB and ST are absolute musts so will be interesting which players we wouldn’t register to enable that.

It's only a few games, but you have to think Spurs are an incredibly attractive proposition for a CF or striker especially one that has confidence in their own abilities if given the right opportunity.

I know been mentioned we may not sign a striker this window but do worry if we don't. Richarlison just feels an awkward fit up front and uneasy with him being the main option up top. Saying that, I'm struggling to come up with gettable options, especially late in the window. Two that seem realistic are Orban or David but couldn't say confidently that either would be a great success.

Orban has a great record and to be fair must admit have not really watched him and no real idea whether he is a good fit for our system or whether he will be able to make the jump up. Obviously if he were to come, would be unfair for someone so young and inexperienced to come in and hit the ground running and imagine it will be a work in progress type of signing. Jonathan David, I've watched a bit of and not particularly sold on in all honesty especially with the numbers being mentioned but could be wrong.

No doubt the club may have other names on the list but feels a difficult one as if we are not totally convinced on the realistic options out there, are they better off keeping their powder dry when maybe other options become available. Far from ideal but now its approaching the end of the window, wouldn't be surprise me if that were to happen.

A second centre back of first team quality still feels more important than a forward to me, even if we do need both. We need to build from the back.

I thought Zabarnyi was pretty impressive. Only 20 too. Bournemouth would probably want an arm and a leg though.

Imagine if we knew the choice was keep Kane and sign no one else or sell kane and sign no one else

Re thought my requirements based on the first couple of games and also some of the ITK and media stories doing the rounds.

CB, Tabsoba/Schurrs/Adarabioyo, and a versatile forward, someone like Johnson or David who can play wide or central. I’d still like a genuine CF capable of finding space in the box given the way we’re moving the ball so sharply, someone who can find staff and get a shot away, but I’m not sure we’ll get both a wide player and a central player this late.
Then some pre signings from South America (as per Hercules’s comments this week). Redondo and Marcos Leonardo.

GK. Vicario, Forster, Austin
RB. Porro, Emerson
LB. Udogie, Davies, Sessegnon
RCB. Romero, Tanganga
LCB. VdV, Adarabioyo
DM. Bissouma, Hojbjerg
CM. Bentancur, Sarr, Skipp
AM. Maddison, Lo Celso
RWF. Kulusevski, Johnson
LWF. Perisic, Soloman, Gil
CF. Son, Richarlison, Veliz

9 HG
15 Non HG (would only be 17 if it was Tapsoba and David instead of Adarabioyo and Johnson, but I chose them as it could see some player trades)
3 U21

Even if Hojbjerg goes, at this late stage, I’d perhaps not replace him, hang on until January.

Then try and incorporate some U21’s like Phillips, Dorrington, Craig, John, Santiago, Donley, Scarlett for bench roles or cup minutes where possible.

After years of terrible recruitment we've absolutely nailed it recently. VDV, Udogie, Maddison, Vic have all been fantastic. Last year's new players Bissouma, Sarr, Porro and Perisic are coming good. If we can just get another forward and a CB over the line we should be in great shape for the season.

100 percent. I’d love a winger also, but think striker and centreback and we’re in a good place. An injury to van de ven or Romero and we’re in trouble.

Steve Hitchin and his scouts were absolutely shocking. We regressed fucking years under his watch.

Dier will be registered over Reguilon, though probably both are out the door next week. Reguilon has next to none chances to get in our non HG quota with him being probably 3rd choice (possibly 4th) at best for single position he can cover with some versatile players on board that are definitely in the squad able to cover as left back

I imagine it will be tough signing a top quality CB to sit come in and sit on the bench while we don't have European footy. Could be something that gets easier in January once we look set to be finishing in CL or EL places.
