Why? Because suddenly we're all bolshy about Kane staying? Even though up until a few hours ago we were all convinced that yesterday was the perfect send off and it's time for a clean slate?

The news doesn't change that Dane Scarlett impressed yesterday and I'd like to see him given a chance. And it certainly doesn't justify internet condescension.

The issue is I hope we go 100% serious on both domestic cups irrespective of who we are up against. Just csnt take another cup exit by playing the B team

Good area to focus on. Personally I can see Reguilon and Ndombele being gone. Or if not Reggie, Perisic perhaps, so at least 2 from that list not being here IMHO.

It's funny that with the 100m for Kane plus the 10m for winks we are back to a net spend of 0...

Whereas those scum down the road have net spent 190m...

For Celtic last season, there were only about 5 league where Ange didn't sub both wingers in the game. I think, especially with the PL being even more physically demanding, its important to have 2 wingers on the bench.

It's actually a good sign that we're finally reaching a point where I don't think we need huge upgrades anywhere (provided the new CBs are good enough).

I think we could use another forward, ideally someone that can play both off the right to compete with Kulu and as a long term competitor for the number 9 spot when Kane leaves (whether that's next week or next year). Maybe Gift Orban could do this? We'll probably have to replace Son within a year or two as well so this is something we'll also need to consider when buying forwards.

Beyond that another CM would be useful. I think it might be worth waiting until a later window to spend on this position, though, as we still don't know how Bentancur will look upon his return and how Ange wants to use him. Also I'd like to see us give Sarr a go as the 8 and let him develop rather than blocking his minutes straight away.

Long term I think we'll also need another RB as I don't think Porro is good enough defensively to be a regular starter there if Royal gets injured (although would love to be proved wrong on this one).

We have 2 significant holes left squad wise for me and that's another quality CB and another quality, explosive winger.

Dream signings for the 2 positions would be Tapsoba and Nico Williams (or Jeremy Doku). Doing that would give us an unbelievably good squad:

Would imagine both Sess and Gil would stay until January due to their injuries.

Anyway, if we pushed the boat out and made that squad happen, Ange would win us silverware this season imo and get us top 4. The only other main weakness in that squad would be Porro due to his defensive weakness. We could do with a better RB than Emerson and Porro but we could evolve that next summer.

Was just coming to discuss this, we’re going to have to focus on HG incomings or really hope that Dane, Devine, Phillips, Alfie D and co come good in the next two years.

It is kind of amazing to think about but among:

Vicario, Udogie, VdV, Bissouma, Maddison and Sarr - we could effectively have 6 new starters who combined for 1200 minutes last season for us.

Add in Lo Celso (and Richarlison if Kane leaves) and we will have had a massive turnover, in addition to brining in a new manger/style/tactics...
