Scary how United , Pool ,Arsenal, City and Chelsea are throwing the money around and add one after another.

We sit here and can't buy Ben fucking Davies.

With the left back and centre back issues sorted I am pretty happy with our squad and anything else would be a bonus (LW, CM, ST) , but it just doesn't look like we can compete with the big boys next season.

Hopefully we can get our shit together...

That's a hell of a good buy for Everton. I wouldn't have minded seeing us buy him.

Shit I hadn't realised that Everton had signed him..............really solid player with a great engine....thats a pretty good midfield they have with Barry and McCarthy.....they won't be out-worked by the opposition.

Perhaps that is a good thing tbh

I think if we get some top class signings that are possible then we will be in that group without any pressure!

To think we could have got Cavani a couple of years ago for like £7m in a double deal with Kjaer and we didn't go for it

One report in Spain saying Barca want Rodriguez and are willing to pay €90m and him make the move a year later

Enner Valencia to West Ham £12million, look good but £12million

Guilavogui to benfica

Chelsea want Rabiot and willing to offer €9m according to The Daily Express

The Sunday Express says Di Maria would reject Man Yoo since they have no CL
Vidal has said "he has heard about the interest about a move to Man Yoo but will see what happens when he returns to Italy, I am calm and who wouldnt want to play for one of the biggest teams in the world"

Pogba's agent has said he isn't having a meeting with juve and isn't talking to any team

Mathieu may be set for barca after not turning up to training on Sunday

Lazio wants De Vrij

QPR want £10mil for Remy from Arsenal

Liverpool closing to signing Moreno according to Daily Mirror

Arsenal close to signing Ospina for €4.5m according to the Mirror

Daily Express says that Swansea are closing in on Bony for £20mill

Prandelli wants Giaccherini and Osvaldo for Galatasaray

Dynamo Moscow have agreed a fee of €7million for Valbuena according to L'Equipe

Roma want Cuadrado and Vlaar if or when Benatia and Ljajic leaves
I'd be gutted if valbuena went to Russia. He's so talented. I hope he goes to Valencia instead, so he can kick on and not let his career be washed away.

Girroud is tripe, I'd play podolski ahead of him up front tbh. They get a proper big striker in and they can do something next season.

I don't even wanna talk about sanchez, too upsetting.
Do they need a big striker? They will have Walcott & Sanchez trying to get in behind and Ozil and Carzola trying to play them in. That sounds terrifying to defenders. Even if teams defend deep, Sanchez has the skill to dribble through and make space for others.

Not sure sanchez will be used as an out-and-out striker for them tbh.

Barcelona did struggle against teams that sit deep and in the PL we do it better than any other league and aren't afraid to keep 2 banks of 4 and 5 in around 20 yards from the goal

I don't think he would be as effective when compared to him on the wings, where he could be the best player in the league.

Arsenal are used to this and very effective against it and I doubt swapping Giroud for Sanchez would change that. Although, I agree he will be mostly used wide. Walcott has been used upfront to great effect aswell, so another option is Sanchez right Walcott upfront. Whether it's Walcott, Sanchez or Giroud upfront, my point is getting a striker isn't a must for them, signing Khedira would be more important, as would a DC & DR imo.

The only thing about Khedira is that he does love to go forward, which on the counter would leave them exposed.

Last season they changed their tactics big time, they would sit alot more deeper and hit teams on the counter more. In the second half of the season teams started to do this more to them and with out Ramsey they struggled break them down.

If teams like Villa showed sit deep and attack them on the counter you have to get past Kosceilny(big task) and the rest of the defence would look like a rabbit in the headlights

Amazes and astonishes how we haven't found a diamond in the rough. Modric was scouted heavily as was Berb. Bale was a great find, but people new about him.

Porto amazes me how they turn out players a coupe years after they dig em out of South America.

The thing with Porto is they have 2 advantages over us, 1st is they don't require Work Permits, so they can get anyone without a EU, where as we would struggle to get most young players that didn't have a duel EU passport. 2nd advantage, is the Portuguese league allows duel ownership, so Porto could just buy 50% of the player and an agency could buy the other 50%, so they taking all the risk should the player fail.

The thing is porto is a better proposition to south american clubs than us.

1st. The best players are sold to a football agency which makes it easier to find for porto as they speak to the agency as well.
2nd. Its easier for South American clubs to negotiate as they have to only sell their share to porto.
3rd. The players who aren't superstars from Porto are sold back to South america, in the deal above for economic rights of the new player.
4th. The third party gets to keep its percentage and make a bigger profit when sold to a bigger club
5th. Easier for them to get the work permit
6th. Clubs can keep their share once sold to new club which means that they can get bigger profits, yes you have sell on clauses but smaller teams can keep their percentage as well which wouldnt be possible with the sell on clause once the player has been sold twice.
Plus the list goes on
